Trump fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and nominated Senator Markwayne Mullin to replace her.

Thank you to @legalmiga.bsky.social for the Thread on Mullin that inspired this video

The fact that Newsmax is broadcasting missiles being fired during our war against Iran

While this fool is blabbering out MAGA talking points-claiming Trump is β€œearning peace” after he threatened to start a SECOND war-this one against Cuba

Pretty much paints the entire Orwellian picture

"Win and you won't have any hands left to play tennis with"

The extortionist was clearly aware of very specific personal information regarding Geerts' family members. "They sent the names of my parents, their address, and even my father's identification number. Everything was correct," Michael says. This was followed by a photo of a revolver.

The next day, just before his match against the Greek player Stefanos Sakellaridis, another message arrived. It emphasized once again that he had to lose the match. "They wrote that my parents' house was being watched and that they also had information about my girlfriend."

...

The Antwerp native decided to inform the tournament organization about the situation. "As a result, the match was postponed by half an hour." Ultimately, he decided to play anyway. "I even had a lead in the first set, but then I started thinking about it again. I couldn't get it out of my head."

By sharing his story, Geerts wants to draw attention to the problem, as he is not alone. Geerts believes the intention of the threats is to throw players mentally off balance. "If these are fake threats, they probably do it to break me psychologically and give my opponent a better chance. Unfortunately, they partly succeeded in that (Geerts eventually lost the match)."

What bothers me most is how eagerly they adopt these plays-with-blocks talking points because it's only a matter of time before you're out in public, some idiot starts parroting it, and I feel rage at that person's stupidity.

I'm so glad she wrote this. The portrayal of her in this series is, to me, indefensible. She deserves an apology from the filmmakers and FX.

And if you hear yourself saying you portrayed a real person (who's alive!) in a particular way to manipulate your audience, please go improve.

At this point, I think there might literally be a 7th grade boy running White House comms.

Noem's bungling proves too much even for Trump Accountability is still possible.

Embarrassing attention to Noem's ostentatious venality, not her sadistic treatment of immigrants, is what finally led Trump to fire her
That's a hint of how politically vulnerable Trump is to a congressional airing of his profiteering in office. Another reason for Trump to fear a fair Nov election

Kalshi employees "kind of understand that without the tweets and the streamers and all of the social-media stuff that the traders do for them, usually just for free, their marketing would be a lot harder," said Jack Campion, 20, a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Kalshi affiliate.
In September, Kalshi briefly signed up a 15-year-old videogame streamer who goes by vertid online to promote its brand on X as an affiliate.
A week later, Kalshi ended the partnership.
"Yo brother, legal team confirmed that we can't work with minors rn," a Kalshi employee wrote to the user in messages reviewed by the Journal. "Kinda sad tbh."

Trump couldn't care less about Americans. To him, we are and always have been no-names, extras, the cost of doing business. He won't lose a minute of sleep over an American life, or over a thousand of them.

Vance's "war on fraud" is a fraud It'd be laughable if people weren't getting hurt.

"The truth is Vance’s 'war on fraud' is a phantom, a PR effort that will likely uncover no misdeeds that weren’t already known to actual fraud investigators. Vance’s pretend fight against fraud is the real fraud, and it’s just what we might expect from the most corrupt administration in history."

Documents Expose Ties Between Trump Officials and Industries They Help Regulate Disclosure records reveal how personal financial interests have intersected with the administration’s decision-making.

At least 4 of the companies awarded contracts so far to build a U.S. defense shield are owned by a private equity firm founded by billionaire Steve Feinberg, who is now the deputy secretary of defense β€” the second-highest-ranking official in the Pentagon.
