The best logos don't make the obvious choice.

Concepts that are too common are forgettable. Your lacrosse logo doesn't need to have a stick in it. A brewery logo doesn't have to have hops.

Look for ways to be unique. Your logo will be more memorable because of it.

Not every brand update has to be a complete reimagination of the logo. Mission Primed wanted to update their brand font, and we updated the logo to align with the new type. We kept the concept the same, but reworked the design to be more clean, bold, and professional.

Athlete Logos

New logo for Boyce Bros Lacrosse!

Inspired by classic sports typography and monograms. This brand update is clean and modern, while still standing out amongst the competition. The design and color palette conveys the Boyce Bros brand values of strength, masculinity, teamwork, and trust.

I’m about to buy some Dallas Trinity merch solely because of the logo, I don’t even watch soccer.

Concept sketches for The Valley lacrosse.

Two programs, Apple Valley Eagles and Eastview Lightning, were merging to form one team called The Valley. They wanted to a new logo that incorporated both teams mascots, as well as the letter V.

Which design would you pick?

One of the most common design mistakes I see teams make is not properly inverting their logo.

If your logo has implied areas of highlight and shadow, simply changing your black logo to white throws everything off. Make sure the dark areas stay dark, and light areas stay light.

The Crown - A symbol of achievement, an athlete's pursuit of the ultimate goal.

The Lion - The King of the Jungle. An animal of strength, power, and dominance. A leader in its domain. These are characteristics the best athletes strive to embody on and off the field.

The Mountain - Representing the athlete's journey. The upward climb, and the relentless pursuit of one's goals. OVRPWR provides training, apparel, and content to help along the way.

The Shield - A symbol of strength and resilience. Shields are a classic motif in sports design, and form a powerful shape to contain the design.

This was one of the directions I presented to OVRPWR when designing their logo and visual identity. They ended up going with a different direction, but I still wanted to share this one because I love how it turned out.
