I'm glad!
Hey everyone, copy Naomi and come study Classical Studies with us ๐
They're nothing super special, but I use these. My hair isn't thick, but is fairly long and I have it up in a clip often because hair ties give me a headache/sore scalp. I find these comfy and pretty grippy, and they hold all the hair, even twisted up in a bunch.
A collaborator just lifted a huge piece of work off my desk and I am ๐ญ

The horrors persist, but so does he.

Fifteen years with my love today, and three since we made it legal. โค๏ธ
Very relatable!
Good luck!
It makes a very pleasant clacky sound, too.

Mother! Stop checking proofs and give me chin scratchies
Free classical studies learning! My fab colleagues (inc. @luxmea.bsky.social @emmabridges.bsky.social @eltonteb.bsky.social) have written a set of free courses on topics like the Odyssey, Augustus & Herodotus. Latest addition is Chella's course on Ovid's big ideas: www.open.edu/openlearn/hi...
It was great to work with Javal on this excellent chapter!
Proofs for this came in today - out in May!

It's been one of those weird days where I feel like I've been workimg constantly but have somehow achieved nothing.
If you haven't voted for UCU VP yet, I think Mark's a good choice.
๐ ๐! Wishing you an easy fast!
Please understand that I am a Senior Lecturer in Classical Studies, I have studied and then worked in Classics for 17 years, and I just closed a browser window that was a Google (actually Ecosia) search for 'Greece'
(I wanted to look at a map quickly!!!)
the emotional intensity of it all!
Listen, I'm upset I posted this too
It's impossible to have a serious discussion about the technology if the equivalent of "but what if we've invented an alien?" is lobbed into the discourse every few weeks. So what if we did! It doesn't have any rights. We can still unplug this shit. Get a grip!

They make an impact on our lives all the same! My brother-in-law's sweet 18yo cat went to sleep recently, and I miss her toothless little face.
Gorgeous boy - so sorry for your loss.
Trying to write a lecture on Demosthenes Third Philippic, but keep getting stuck on those opening lines:
'even if everyone who spoke here wanted to propose and you wanted to vote for what was sure to put our affairs in the worst state, I don't believe things could be any worse than they are now.'
There are two wolves inside of me: one that accepts that language meaning should be based on usage, and one that wants to scream when I hear 'that's so performative'
This is such a pet peeve of mine!
Sending a hug, friend.
We have a Latin course too, here: www.open.edu/openlearn/hi...
