Dems demand probe of Trump’s SAVE America Act website "This webpage appears to be a prima facie violation of restrictions on the use of appropriations for explicit appeals to the public to contact Members of Congress to support pending legislation."

🚨BREAKING: Top Democrats are asking Congress’ investigative arm to probe a White House website urging voters to support SAVE America Act β€” calling it a blatant violation of federal laws barring officials from using taxpayer dollars for partisan politics. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I did the same thing and reached the same conclusion and my wife is alive! I guess there are plenty of folks who view BlueSky as a dating app or source for victims. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

The anti-Bluesky discourse seems really overheated and dumb. It's a website, FFS. There's plenty of interesting discussion on it and a lot of smart people on it as well. It hasn't supplanted Twitter, true, but the idea that this represents some sort of major disqualifying failure is farcical.

This is day five for the New York Times’ The Docket. But this is year six for Democracy Docket.

By all means, the more the merrier! I welcome the much-needed focus on the courts and legal news from legacy media. But if you are looking for an independent voice, sign-up now for free. bit.ly/4qmEiFz

My law firm is now litigating 85 voting and election cases in 40 states. This is the largest number of cases in the most states we have ever handled at one time. And, while Big Law firms mostly sit idly by, the need to protect elections in court is only growing.

California is proof that our transition to clean energy is making our economy thrive:

βœ… Cap-and-Invest Program through 2045 to support affordability

βœ… 55 ZEV manufacturers and supply chains = billions of dollars invested

βœ… R&D dominantly based in California

By moving to the β€œcenter,” Democrats have failed to fight the forces that led us to Trump: widening inequality and the unchecked power of billionaires.

There's no "center" anymore between a takeover of the government by oligarchs and true freedom.

Dems need to learn this.

US border czar says immigration crackdown in Minnesota will β€˜conclude’ Tom Homan says that Trump has backed β€˜significant drawdown’ in the state, where two US citizens have died

The Trump administration said it is ending its deployment of immigration agents to Minnesota. They’re framing it as Minnesota agreeing to cooperate, but most of their statements are false. It’s Minnesotans standing firm and refusing to back down. The resistance only grows. Minnesota strong πŸ’ͺ

Trump's big, ugly budget megabill gives ICE more agents than the FBI, more jails than the federal Bureau of Prisons, and a larger budget than most countries' militaries.

It does this by stripping food away from children, the disabled, and the working poor.

Not one more penny.

These two assholes are having a conversation like things are just totally normal with ICE and all we need is to have some administrative recommendations on improved training and standard operating procedures. β€œHow can we fix the Gestapo” is a ridiculous tack. ICE must be abolished.

This is important. The head of CBP says here that his agency did NOT provide the assessment that led DHS to label Alex Pretti a terrorist looking to inflict mass casualties.

That appears to contradict Stephen Miller's claim that the initial assessment was based on CBP reports:

Utah GOP push to repeal anti-gerrymander law falters amid fraud allegations tied to firm backed by Trump Jr. As a result of the growing controversy, the GOP ended its partnership with Patriot Grassroots.

β€œMemorial services are nothing new to staff at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. But this week our chapel hosted a memorial like none that preceded it. The memorial service was for Alex J. Pretti, whose sudden passing left a significant impact on the entire medical center.β€œ

A sad reminder that so much of the media has succumbed to both-sides coverage. They are afraid of Trump and are paralyzed by the new challenges we face.

I love Kobo, I do not use Kobo plus. I have the luxury of being able to buy almost any kobo plus book (they are inexpensive or become so on sale) and buying the ones I actually want to read, I am spending less than the cost of plus.
