gen 1-7’s ‘mystique’ comes from graphical/technical limitation, but it’s quite possible that by gen 13 or whatever that Battlefield 1 (gen 8) will look like Wolfenstein 3D by then, or equally we might have all but plateaued now for all we know?

i’m super curious to see if the same will happen for PS4/Wii U (and Switch lmao)/Xbox One, as to be totally honest they’re not far from what we have now anyway - probably recency bias though. i mainly wonder if gen 8 consoles onward will really have the same ‘mystique’ as gen 1-7 seem to have?

I think that the early 60s-mid 2010s was a golden age for British culture, starting with The Beatles and ending with the Doctor Who/Sherlock/etc mass fandoms. I'm sad to have missed so much of it, yet I am grateful I at least somewhat experienced the tail end of it. It feels so empty now 😕
