You know, Brian Covel, rhymes with Auntie's Hovel
When I'm out doing my day job, I swear at least once a week some kid comes up to me and just says "six seven" over and over. I'm running out of old people jokes to make in response.
what the fuck am i looking at
I used to be part of a niche Facebook dating group. 98% of the guys there were absolute bottom of the barrel, they'd DM every girl in the group with low-effort spam texts. I guess they thought if they messaged 100 women, one of 'em must be desperate enough to message back.
This reminds me of that.
Yes to all of these except the 12/12, please
Half a sandwich, some oreos, and some veggie straws & Takis on a plate
I'm in the Modern challenge today, and my wife made this for me to have for lunch. I had only 80 seconds after finishing R5 so I just ate the first half of the sandwich and ran back to MTGO. For real, support like this helps me do better at tourneys
I think he did a masterful job of identifying his outs and digging for them while applying an appropriate amount of pressure. I also could have taken a more defensive posture in G2, but I think I was seeing red and not asking how I could lose.
Incredible gameplay, glad I had the chance to play!
Got absolutely destroyed in a league by @jkyu06.bsky.social the other day: youtu.be/Ihn9CUiUNcw?...
G1 it was Bridge or bust, I had to shove into some unknown cards and he had found the counter. G2 we both took super aggro postures, I Lantern'd away Meltdown and he topdecked it anyway.
If a Magic set doesn't contain a staple for Lantern Control, then I'm not interested.
jfc this is an actual gem, I'm in love, if only I could sleeve it up
Stoppppppp I'm gonna wake up my wife with how hard I'm laughing rn
Randall Thompson aka thnkr. He has helped lead the Lantern Control data collection effort and helped keep the deck alive for over a decade. He's definitely more skilled with the deck than I am.
The only dual land I ever won was a scrubland. Nice prize!
This is the way
@magicgooglyeyes.bsky.social I would kill to see Lantern of Insight absolutely covered in googly eyes
You still did damn good, hope your breakers are kind!
I just finished an extension to my stream management software that seamlessly mixes chat from both Youtube and Twitch together into the same chat section on-screen. Now those watching my future streams on Twitch won't be left out of the conversation on Youtube. It's pretty damn cool!
Why play dead cards like Defense Grid when you can just throw haymakers at your opponent until they stop moving? I had a lot of fun watching this one.
Magic card: Rite of Consumption
Can't attack? You know what to do.
I'm back from my hiatus! Starting next week, I'll be streaming a league every Thursday and Friday at 10:45am Eastern / 2:45pm UTC. Thanks for your patience, everyone!
Work on my first Lesson video is proceeding nicely! I am developing a script for the video alongside all the tools I need to make subsequent Lessons easy and consistent to make. Here's a sneak peek of what I've got so far for it.
I just stole someone's cart in an Aldi because I was reeling from today's B&R announcement. Stream is incoming, 4x Opal here we come!
I'll be there on Saturday! Gonna attend the big Modern event.
I just now put together that this is the song my own son sings all the time. I have succeeded as a father.
"I'll try your mom once. Twice if someone's watching."
All we have to do is not print Island in any set for tge next 5 years, and then it won't be legal ... in Standard
I'll miss it too. I'm gonna try Lantern again soon, maybe after the bans. Oh and the stream is Thursday, not sure when yet, but Friday won't work for me this week.
Look out for a stream from me on Friday where I'm going to bite the bullet and brew around the new and obviously broken MH3 card, Glaring Fleshraker.
I'm just starting my Youtube journey, and it sucks that my deck of choice just doesn't cut it anymore. So I think I will give Lantern a break for a little bit and do my best to brew with what I've got.
As an artifact combo/control gamer, I'm feeling an identity crisis with the new Modern. Lantern is struggling to keep up with the new meta. It's gained only Urza's Saga and Profane Tutor as MH/UB cards, while trying to field off an entire meta of new decks crammed full of powerful new goodies.
