Man, Kagurabachi is SO good. Damn
German politics so bad I’m starting to miss Merkel
That’s bad
💐
From DW, on Merz, a genocidal embarrassment: His remarks underscored uncertainty over whether the strikes were justified. Yet Merz declined to deliver a legal judgment under international law: "This is not the moment to lecture our partners and allies. Despite our reservations, we share many of their objectives."
Before Merz's genocidal patheticness here in 2026, the last time European leadership rolled over as cowardly to the obvious threat of a strongman ignoring the rules of the world, the strongman was Merz' predecessor from about a century ago. History teaches us it was the wrong path to take.

Mamoru Oshii wrote this film, but Okiura revised his screenplay -- getting little-known and uncredited help from Satoshi Kon along the way
Someone just posted about how they don't care if their students use AI as long as the text conveys the ideas the students meant to convey. The thing is, you don't know exactly what you think until you write it. And if some prefab thing pops up, you're liable to decide that was what you thought.
Nowadays I sadly don't really read that many books aside from Japanese ones for learning or textbooks (nerd). But I still try to read articles, blogs and the like. Knowing and understanding words is important, not just to get the "content" but also everything conveying the content
Reading also helped me learn a bunch of unusual German words! Although that resulted in being made fun of for using weird words as a child on a few occasions. Yay! So I think reading is good and important (also learning other languages!). Like with everything, most books aren't great. But that's ok!
Related to my last RP. I don't think I'm the most eloquent guy in English (not even in my native German lol), but I consider myself fluent. I encounter words I don't know once in a blue moon. I think that's mostly due to me reading lots of books. It made me find unusual vocabulary and grammar.
i bet this shit sounds magical if you're fucking stupid
Finding all (not accounting for stuff like pitch) homophones in Japanese: sibaku.github.io/site/pages/l... 13105 groups! These drive me up the wall during vocab. Has happened multiple times that I keep making a mistake with a word I was sure I knew, turns out i confused it with a different word!

I used to paint digitally. This one is from 2022. medium: Procreate, Photoshop
Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now
An art nouveau poster featuring Luffy from One Piece. At the bottom of the poster are scenes of Luffy's home, including Shanks gifting Luffy his hat. The top panels feature the Going Merry and Thousand Sunny.
First poster in my One Piece collection: Luffy 👊
Semordnilaps are words that you can read backwards and they become a new word, like dog/god, 期間中/中間期. What got me thinking about this first was learning how 中心 and 心中 have VERY different meanings. I'm also amazed how often I read 心中...The only length 4 semordnilap: 歳歳年年/年年歳歳, nearly all are length 2
Another Japanese post: sibaku.github.io/site/pages/l... I guess as a comp scientist, I am predisposed to palindromes, as that is one of the earliest programming exercises lol One of the 3 longest ones in Japanese is 男の中の男 (alpha male lol) Length 2 has all the fun doubles, like 次次, 悠悠, 年年, ...
I think my major issue is mostly the small variance in sounds and no kanji, so a few groups of words just blend together. Not generally using sentences for review (though that's useful) as the app I'm using makes it a bit annoying (but has native recordings!). I guess I try to use reading for that 😅
Also fixed a bug on pages with in-browser code editors, where the run button kind of stopped working. I hate iframes
Finally added my Japanese articles to my page, where I analyze dictionary data for patterns that I find interesting. First one is about four letter mimetic word compounds like あっさり or こっそり: sibaku.github.io/site/pages/l...
I think these are very charming, but really hard to remember.
It is my opinion is that economics as a field is a pseudoscience with more in common with astrology than it has in common with any other social science or any science at all.
If that hurts your feelings, it’s best not to engage with my posts on the topic.
And like, it's not just the animation, but also colors, scenes, music and voice acting. Before this, there was basically "here is a slice of life lawyer anime" and it was great. Even the "this is the plot of this season" powerpoint episode was stylish
When I watched last week's Jujutsu Kaisen episode I immediately had to show someone the fight scene. The animation was so sick. Then I get recommended this video today: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVkK...
So yeah, it definitely had a very distinct style. Though all the S3 fights look incredible
Let me be your narrative designer! I'm great at mechanical integration into lore. I'm not sure I've ever said that here on bluesky before, but I'm trained and experienced! Also more animated series need a big picture narrative designer js
Back view of a man standing on a grassy cliff against a morning sky. He has long black hair and is dressed all in black, and silvery chainmail. He holds a curved sword in one hand from which blood drips onto the ground and turns into bright red crocuses. Behind him in the distance a burning village is loosely indicated. Some black crows flutter around him.

Today is also a good day to throw some money and support towards a woman. Support their work. Support those who suffer under patriarchy. Support those who suffered from violence. Those who are oppressed. Who have been abused. Support queer women and trans women.
