Well, I guess I'm going to BOTH nights. If you add December 9, now...shit, I'll go to that, too!!
Can't wait. Just incredible and incredibly exciting for you and us.

Therapy, then what should be a straightforward day at work (danger, Assumption Man!)

The Royale: the first cup of coffee (or whatever you imbibe) of the day. So good to see your beautiful faces. (End)
Friday, March 6, 2026. The Royale. Day 2083.
Hello Friday, you magnificent bastard...
Gonna head to the gym in a bit; 5 of the last 6 days as part of the March Back to Fitness. Feels good to feel better. (1/2)

Thursday, March 5, 2026. The Royale. Day 2082.
A decent, if long day at the AGPA Conference. As with all conferences we do, it's always nice to spend the day with people invested and interested in learning. A nice salve for the world.
Back to the regular gig today. (1/2)
Even though it's "work," it's with my favorite person, so, kinda like a day out, if not off!

Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The Royale. Day 2081.
Kinda slept in. That's a new experience...
A day off from the main gig to help Books on Call open a store at the "AGPA" Conference, a gathering of Group Therapists here in NYC. (Thanks to all who recommended books for this!) (1/2)
This struck me (after I recovered from the insanity of it all): "that many editors preferred an AI-written article to a human one." Could it be that many editors actually prefer...not to have to DEAL with humans with opinions, feelings, ideas because they are just not GOOD at doing so?
Nghtmare.

We're both coming at it with significantly different mindsets than before, due to a number of positive factors I shant go deeply into now. (Not to be mysterious; nothing overly complicated).
It will be an interesting work season, for sure. (2/3)
Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The Royale. Day 2080.
Both The Redhead and I are entering into our super-busy times: she already has more events scheduled in March than any March since the pandemic, and I am in the beginning stages of catalog work and other major Spring projects. (1/3)
In case the image is not clear: fuck off with this shit.
I was thrilled to have a conversation with 32BJ Security Office Tasheena Cherry as part of our "Building Stories" podcast.
Give it a listen...
I mostly want to see your beautiful faces. So fill this page, and give me you and your Royale.
I'll definitely do this month, and then there's now a stable of Royale Engineers to take it forth for as long as we want. (End)
So: back in the days when there was something called Twitter, the wonderful writer Brian Koppelman (Rounders, Billions) asked folks to post photos of themselves and their βRoyaleβ: the first cup of coffee of the day. (3/4)
This then, an ongoing, daily reminder that good people exist; community is how we win, there is music, love, laughter, coffee (yer gottdamned right), and a glimpse of a better way. (2/4)
March 1, 2026. The Royale. Day 2078.
Welcome to the beginning of March, the SEVENTH March of our little online gathering, starting (the 6-year anniversary later this month) in the ominous beginnings of a worldwide pandemic. (1/4). Thanks to Scott, Dean, Julie, Willie, Ashley and Jay for hosting.
God, I love this song.
Itβs the art equivalent of @themountaingoats.bsky.socialβs βThis Yearβ: never not relevant.
Fighting back wins. I wish folks would learn that more quickly, but...welcome to the party Columbia pals.
Bless their Fucking hearts.
I shall indeed. (Everything old is new again...)
Good morning, Scotto.
THANK YOU for any attention paid to GHT (me pictured here with my 2 Thomas mugs!)
Absolutely the finest General from Virginia and perhaps on either side in the War. Rose to meet the moment often under the worst possible physical and political circumstances (Chickamauga and Nashville, specifically).
"You can wake up every day in this city and start a business or have a plane crash into a building."
It is nice to have a Mayor who is not, ya' know, batshit insane.
I'm up, though from a night of not so great sleep.
Lots of back-to-back meetings today, so I expect to get blurry eyed around 1:45. Spare a thought for my retinas.
Good morning, Scotto and other good humans.
I will support any politician of any party who fights for a 2-day work week.
Good morning, Scotto!
This record is also kind of an argument against the idea that people have limited attention spans for pop songs. The record has 5 songs over 5 minutes long, and one JUST shy of 5. The vocals on this terrific song don't come in until a hair before 2 minutes. (Also a hint at their larger ambitions).
I love the insane ambition of this record. Not everything works, but what does is magic.
(And a review of this was the first time I read the word "rococo"!)
Given the big snow in NYC this weekend, you know one song in particular has been rattling around my brain. Thanks for sharing this.
A beautiful and necessary reminder from @dansinker.com.
