Republicans vote to end use of school IDs for NH elections
The New Hampshire House and Senate have approved a bill ending the use of college and high school identification cards for residents seeking to obtain a ballot at the polls.
The awesome thing about “solving” imaginary problems if you’re an elected NH Republican? You distract people from your piss poor record when it comes to housing, childcare, public education, ballooning property taxes, and basic human rights. #NHPolitics www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2026...

I’m with Rep Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) we need answers and we need answers now. Trump and the Pentagon are reportedly planning on sending 23,000 troops to all 50 states. Elbridge Colby won’t answer basic questions about this plan. Unacceptable, we need to stay on this story.👀

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship
The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countries—including the United States.
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Are we falling out of love with nonfiction?
In the early 2020s, readers flocked to books to explain political turbulence. But is the world now too grim to read about – and are podcasters taking the place of authors?
If we learned nothing else from 2025, it’s that we shouldn’t take for granted that what we love will continue to be funded
If people and libraries don’t buy a certain kind of book, publishers will stop investing in them
That’s also one reason the library book bans are so scary

REMEMBER THIS? Here's a look back at Trump's newly named DHS Secretary, Sen. Markwayne Mullin, in 2023 when he stood up and tried to fight labor leader Sean O'Brien at a senate committee hearing after reading O'Brien's tweet saying he'd take him "any time, any place."

Emmanuel Damas died in ICE custody after ICE failed to treat a tooth issue that turned into pneumonia.
ICE didn't even keep his family updated.
The Trump admin's cruelty knows no bounds.
I'm pressing with Senator Markey and Rep. Pressley to hold ICE accountable.

Perry: This St. Patrick’s Day, don’t forget Irish music’s anti-fascist roots
Dropkick Murphys, the iconic Irish American punk band, are headlining a free block party March 6 near where Alex Pretti was killed by immigration agents, contributing columnist David M. Perry writes.
NEW “We’re celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You can’t keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, it’s ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.”

Republicans are mad that librarians support preserving knowledge, which they call a one-sided bias. Makes it harder for their fascist attempts to rewrite history I guess. Anyways HB1256 passes OTP 189-162.
