I have 20 releases on the calendar this year but I'm already making a mental tally of all of the bands I wish I had the time and money to work with. If you're not excited about anything happening right now- especially in the Bay, you're missing out on an amazing era of underground guitar music.
I ran into one of my favorite artists/ cartoonists. He offered to do something either for the label or a release or my personal collection. I am very excited.
Guv was epic tonight. I really dig the new LP but live it was intense. This baggie era works live. Check them out if you get the chance. I can't remember the last time I was moving for a band's entire set, but now my neck hurts.

I was walking around and "Impossible Love" by Daniel Johnston came on and I started thinking about outsider art who would and wouldn't be considered outsider artists - Jonathan Richman? Dan Treacy? Lawrence? Is the term problematic? Is it just a way to sell art by non-nerotypical people?

This May will be the five year anniversary of the label releasing our first batch of releases (aside from my own projects). I want to do something fun to celebrate and give back to the community. I'm not sure what but something will happen.
There's so much stuff going on here at DBR HQ. We have TWO DOZEN releases in the works. European tours are being booked. Records are being written/recorded. Videos are being made. I'm going to be doing some producing. And this year the label turns five so maybe we should have a party? 🤔🤫
