Such a cozy dark and foggy day. Great to be back in Vancouver.

This was such a great surprise when we got to hear the full album. I think I listened to this and Endsong back to back for like 2 weeks straight.

Why with the constant ass kissing? Nothing is too big or too small to pucker up for.

All these years avoiding war with Iran and we finally end up with one where Pete Hegseth is in charge and talking about β€œsquirters.”

Oh no! I didn’t mean to sound snippy. I was trying to explain that he’s a weirdo. 😊

How have they not figured out how to fade/ adjust that spray tan perimeter yet?

Such a great song! For many bands this would be a #1 best ever song of their career, but for The Cure, it’s just one of their brilliant tucked away B sides.

Ah- luck you! Jealously happy for you! What a great show.

Yeah- that was great to hear it for the first time! I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to get tickets but I did watch the live stream.

Thanks! This was such a great album. Such an unexpected gift for us to still be getting new phenomenal Cure music all these decades later.

Pretty sure the β€œstiff as toys and tall as men” was gently borrowed from Charlotte Sometimes.

I love how beautiful his voice is on this Unplugged session.

I love this album so much! Great choice- little sprinkles of Penelope Farmer in this one.

That bass is vicious and the little synth flourishes dancing around the corners and Robert’s anguished voice of course… This song is quite the ear worm.

Any β€œnormal” administration and this would have been a one off and followed with a morose apology and maybe a resignation. But the norm now is outdoing each other with inappropriate and embarrassing behavior.

Not sure why he picked who he did though. I don’t know if he’d consider Cyndi Lauper any more famous than Sinead. He’s seen Goonies, but I don’t know how much he would associate it with CL and I doubt he’s seen CL’s videos because he didn’t have MTV.

That’s good to hear. It was my understanding things had much improved for him. I’m glad he got to enjoy some more stable times and we are all the richer for it.

(Side note, John, I got your Goth book when it came out. Loved it!)

Odd like by 6 years old he’d been gifted a birthday hatchet, shot at while helping his parents pick psilocybins by moonlight in some farmer’s cow pasture, and watched a woman give birth then take bites of her placenta and pass it around the room for others to enjoy. It was a unique childhood.

He had an odd upbringing.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the inspiration! For my next career I will be a pastor so I can deliver sermons about my favorite music and force my congregation to listen to my song picks. Brilliant! Enjoy the show!

He had such a wonderful voice, I’m sure it’s a great listen.

I imagine it’s brutal. I know he had a lot of struggles. I once saw the Trees at a small show where he was completely off his face said β€œI can’t do this” after about 3 songs and wandered off the stage and the show was over.
