It takes a very special kind of bastard to follow a cyclist aggressively from behind, and rev towards their back wheel, on a quiet neighbourhood street.
It’s doubly bad when they’re doing it on the wrong way of a cycling contra-flow.
But to top it off, they mounted the sidewalk to pass me when […]

Map of the west side of Toronto with a pin at Markham and Dundas, with a trail leaving heading west, north on Palmerston then west on Bloor.
A second visit to Collective Arts for a couple of pints of cider for #coffeeneuring on the 13th.
Two to go, and just over a week to do it.

Map of the western end of Toronto, with a blue path down Dovercourt, south of Bloor, heading west on Dundas to roughly Brock, and back east to a marker between Dovercourt and Ossington.
No photo, but yesterday’s #coffeeneuring was a jaunt at the end of the work day, for mock meat groceries and a pint of cider at Get Well.

@ai6yr I’ve only read the abstract and half of the introduction to the paper so far, but I’m already quite irked.

@ai6yr They’re even failing at Betteridge’s Law, but only by taking this garbage at face value.

Depending on when you were born, DST either steals an hour from you and then returns it, or lends you an hour and then takes it back.
Either way, it’s a lousy disruption for everyone, twice a year.
Happy extra-road-deaths-day, to all the ham-fisted legislators who celebrate that.

A pint of cider on a bar, next to a Blue Jays hat with the World Series logo on the side.
Accidental #coffeeneuring outing.
At my second-favourite neighbourhood Jays bar to watch the start of game six of the #WorldSeries.
(The first is happily entirely reserved.)
I believe the #BlueJays can and will do it tonight.
Okay, Blue Jays!
Let’s Play Ball!

Last night, Sportsnet showed a montage of swing and miss against Yesavage, with the Beach Boys’ “I Get Around” as the soundtrack.
😂
Haven’t found the clip online yet.
Does anyone know of a source?

A hi tech laboratory. Technicians work at computer work stations. A glass cylinder contains an unhappy bespectacled figure in a striped top and hat. A scientist explains to two colleagues:
"The subject will be returned to his natural habitat. But now, thanks to our implanted tracking device, we can answer the question 'Where's Wally?' in microseconds rather than hours. "

A map showing the tail end of a tracked journey on a map of Toronto, going east on Bloor past Christie Pits, and ending near Bathurst and Dundas West.
A pint of cider on a very quiet, half-packed-away patio, sitting next to a Kindle and a Blue Jays hat, with the Collective Arts wall art and sign in the background.
First #coffeeneuring of the year.

Nice to see the TTC in Toronto recommending fare capping. #guelphtransit introduced it here in July 2023. It has increased both revenue and ridership numbers in #Guelph, while also making it easier, more accessible, and affordable for anyone to take the bus in our city.

A page from the Suspension section of the inspection manual for passenger and light commercial vehicles, with instructions for inspecting for vehicles who have had their ride height changed. Highlighted is a block of text that reads:
"Note: Hockey pucks are not considered a proper replacement for body mounts."
was reading the Nova Scotia vehicle inspection manual and came across this 🇨🇦🏒🇨🇦

Screenshot of menu bar from the Birkenstock site, with a highlighted link at the top that says “Enable Accessibility”
There’s something very wrong about a link on a website called “enable accessibility”.
That’s divisive, and supposes that accessibility is for “other” people.
This is from Birkenstock, but presumably there are others out there.

Today’s the 16th anniversary of moving to Canada with @notcontrary.
It has been a huge adventure, most of shared it with the (ever-growing) #tinyCanadian.
Toronto has been the place I’ve lived in for the longest for a while now, even if I still feel kind of new here.
I’m very grateful to feel […]

This is both delightful in its own right, and a very pleasant counterexample to @ianb’s generally sound law of headlines.

Even the bus stops on Eglinton itself are gas-lit.
Apparently the stop at Eglinton and Mount Pleasant is also a “shuttle stop” for the Line 5 that Metrolinx and the provincial gov still haven’t delivered, and refuse to announce a (new) date for.
