Got bored, made an RPG this weekend (text-based adventure, HTML) โ very rough around the edges but vibe is really all that matters right

I just want to say that the Silksong launch has been everything I could have wanted and more. Lovely game, lovely atmosphere, great developers, and 30 hours in with one completion down everything still feels fresh and interesting. It seems there are still some nice things left to be had!
Duck in water, heavily blurred depth separation, heavy bokeh

My game from the UW Game Dev Club 2021 Winter Jam! It's a Risk of Rain - like top-down roguelike shooter. All assets made in two weeks by me!

My game from the 2024 GMTK game jam, a factory simulator game with tower defense elements that's also (kind of) open world. All assets made solo in three days!

Yeah, completely agree. My process is usually: if I like it, make it so you can deliberately construct a circumstance where it happens, but that is very difficult to occur in normal gameplay.
It's super easy as long as the bomb doesn't have a collider that limits getting close to r = 0 (I didn't limit the impulse scaling). Way too easy in its current form, but the secret sauce could be adding a weapon attachment that removes rigidbody collision from projectiles.
Do I leave this in for speedrunners? Seems fair and balanced

Slowly dumping my project and demo backlog on here so people can see what I'm about.
This is from this year's GMTK jam! Full on factory building/tower defense game (Lonely Planet) with very janky enemies.

I really like this take but I think it can even be expanded to any moment in time that those people think they have a novel way of expressing. It doesn't have to be something you've never seen or felt before, it just has to be a unique, meaningful, and therefore impactful representation of it.
I made album art!
