We lost my mom 10 years ago today. Most of you know her only as the legend she left behind, this wild, untamed woman with a huge heart, a wicked sense of humor and force for good. Big “I Do What I Want” energy, the original main character.

This enrages me. I used to work on social services. Housing First -- meaning housing BEFORE the requirements -- WORKS. It gives people the stability to be able to focus on other needs. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But it DOES work.

The older I get, the more I realize that I enjoy creator-owned comics more than some others. So much so that I now feel like a need a t-shirt that reads "read more creator-owned comics".

To deal with the multiple notebooks situation, I made a leather traveller's style notebook that I can secure them all in. One master book that contains all my moleskines and similar. It's been a solid system so far.
I'm currently revisiting Tom King's Batman run.
I have a lot of thoughts.
The world might be on fire, it may be SDCC week, I may be losing my mind slowly but I also just made a really great sandwich so life can't be all bad.

I am not going to get over how great the new Superman movie is anytime soon. That movie is an absolute feat for anyone who has ever read and loved a Superman comic book.
