Pitt football opens spring practice tomorrow morning. I will not be there to cover it because I will be at a funeral. My aunt, who I was very close to, passed away last week. She was on hospice for a few weeks, which is why I haven’t been around here much.
The Steelers have finalized their coaching staff under new head coach Mike McCarthy.
There are 25 assistants, including strength & conditioning and the Chief of Staff.
The only holdovers from Mike Tomlin’s final staff are QB coach Tom Arth and ILB coach Scott McCurley.
I was told you couldn’t win with a defensive head coach and rely on sacks and turnovers and keep kicking field goals.
Which makes it even more beautiful!

Never forget that the Super Bowl halftime show wasn’t really a thing until “In Living Color” aired a live show during the Super Bowl in 1992.
The NFL then booked Michael Jackson to play during halftime the following year.
The fact that this was written during George W. Bush’s first term & continues to be our reality—but somehow even worse!—makes me want to scream.

Larry Fitzgerald is second to only Jerry Rice in career receiving yards.
During his NFL career, he caught touchdown passes from 16 different quarterbacks (and I guarantee you can’t name them all without looking it up!)

Return of the Mike: looks like former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin will be back in Pittsburgh on March 12, when he’ll be honored at the Ireland Funds Dinner Gala at Acrisure Stadium.
His wife, fashion designer Kiya Tomlin & actor/Pittsburgh native Michael Keaton will also be honored.
Mercy Hospital really has some nice views of the city of Pittsburgh.
