Made redundant on Saturday night. Today, my first job application rejected.
Not many part-time jobs advertised. I've reached the stage I'll apply for almost any job. I often don't even mention all my education, training and work experience, because it's kind of embarrassing that I'm so desperate.

I completely agree with Little's decision. Our rates will undoubtedly go up again by a lot. It would have been absurd to spend $405,000 just to reopen the library after the renovation and reinforcement work cost $217.6 million instead of the original $178.7 million.

Looks like I'll have to start looking for a new job soon. The small business I work for isn't doing well at all & they're going to "restructure" to save on wage costs. Usually that means people being fired, getting their hours reduced, their wages lowered or the business is closing down entirely. π

According to the Otago Daily Times, there was a crowd of 15,170 people at the game. The stadium's capacity for rugby & football games is 30,748 (source: Wikipedia). Pretty good for the first game of the season, I'd say.

I agree with the court's decision, but something really dodgy seems to be going on here. Not sure of the legal basis, but they should keep an eye on this baby to make sure this isn't a case of child trafficking.

I would have thought that the first consideration should be making it safer on the road. Not convinced these changes will achieve that. NZers are terrible drivers.
