Hear me out - a monster catching/battling game, but instead of #pokemon, its enemies from various other #nintendo franchises: Metroids, Koopas, Goombas, Stalfos, etc.

I’d even argue this all started in Gen 2 with egg moves, since in some cases the “best” mon wasnt the one you caught, it was the one with the right egg moves. But that was slightly less egregious because you could arguably still be competitive with a caught mon, at least in game as opposed to PvP.

With the EV rework, you can mess up its training, and have to work to either undo it, or train up a new mon from scratch, which kind of undercuts the ethos of “befriending” mons in lieu of abandoning the “bad” ones. This was impossible in general 1/2.

So, I’ve been playing a lot of #pokemon Crystal. I’ve kind of come to the conclusion that I hate natures, and the EV rework in Gen 4. In Gen 1 and 2, it’s literally impossible to catch a “bad” Pokemon in the wild. Once natures got added, you could catch one with a bad nature. 🧵

I KINDA want Pokopia, but I think it might just be the hype. I’m already behind on games, I’m not really a “cozy” gamer, and spending $70 dollars for a game makes me physically ill. I’d wait for a sale but Nintendo never puts their first party stuff on sale, or at least not by much. #pokemon

I really, really hope Dragon Quest VII Reimagined's art direction is not just a one-off for this game only. I love it. I'm not saying EVERY mainline game should adopt it, but some spin-offs, or maybe do a whole line of "Reimagined" remakes. I'd love to see the Zenithian trilogy in this style.
