Thanks for raising this.
When I arrived at the market yesterday the bikes were already parked there and the market was due to close within a couple of hours. At that point it wasn't possible tor relocated them.
I appreciate the importance of keeping the cycle lanes clear and undersand why people raised concerns. In this instance I chose to highlight the work of the volunteets from Greater Manchester Blood Bikes, who provide an incredible service transporting urgent medical supplies for the NHS free of charge.
If there are future issues with access to the lane I'm always happy to look into them with the relevant teams.

A Facebook post.
Cllr Rachel Bresnahan
We had a few complaints this morning about the cycle lane being blocked, but what better reason than Greater Manchester Blood Bikes!
[The rest of the post is an advert for the charity.]
This cycle lane has only just been completed.
Imagine the outrage if a councillor was supporting the unauthorised closure of a road (especially a new one) despite resident complaints.

A CAD diagram showing the proposed scheme.
A Google Streetview image of the path as it is currently. Narrow, with lighting columns, and a bend to the path meaning no through-visibility.
Third: in Brinnington, widening of the existing path between Foliage Road and Brinnington Road.
Deadline is also 14 December.

A Google Streetview image of the footway as it currently looks. The surface is patchwork, and lighting columns are situated in the middle of the path.
Second: in Reddish, the footpath-only section of Arthur Street is proposed to be made shared use and the lighting columns moved out of the path, increasing permeability for neighbouring streets.
Deadline also 14 December.

A CAD design of a SPARROW crossing of the A34 near Kingsway School. The pedestrian crossing is two-stage. The existing underpass will remain. The existing access to Broadway from the A34 will also remain, albeit tightened.
Another consultation, and another change to the A34 scheme. The original proposal โ upgrading the existing underpass to allow for walking and cycling โ instead becomes a SPARROW crossing.
Deadline 21 December.
