re: my "every game dev I've met" comment.

Very common for devs to study games by playing the 1st 10-ish minutes, go "I get it." and move on.

There are valid reasons for doing this, but I don't have very kind views on it. Imagine playing darksouls for just 10 minutes and thinking you understood it.

if that sounds like poison for you, I really suggest wildfrost. It has a wonderful artstyle that clashes with it's apocalyptic setting in a funny way, and it does a really fun thing of giving you cards that seem worthless, but with some digging you realize they're broken.

yeah. Very similar response. No disrespect, but I had just played wildfrost (which is also very good and does have an endpoint) and was just like "yeah, I'm good."

At the risk of sounding like every game dev I've ever met, I think I'm good on Slay the Spire 2.

I think it's pretty great how successful it is, how they've more or less invented a sub-genre, and I know it'd consume my free time, but I think I've played enough spire-likes. I think I get it.
