So they have their initial bickering, but every time they reunite, it's them being cute. It helps that Koana is a good-hearted person underneath it all, so it's not like a giant moral dilemma. (Also I hc the Koana visit scene happens for Hex because Thancred & Wuk Lamat won't stop talking about her)

it's just back to them catching up, Thancred being especially affectionate whenever they encounter each other, and them just being friendly competition (think of a nice rival in games that gives you things). And then the team up for the cooking challenge is just chef's kiss!⤵️

& they end up adventuring independently from each other.

When Hex sees Thancred & Urianger on Koana's team, she's 'wtf', even more 'wtf' after the rock slide (because he'd know her direction weakness best) but then they reunite at Many Flames & after being miffed at him,⤵️

Hex told Thancred at the end of EW that she did return his feelings, but wanted to take things slow, they were so explosive at each other during SHB & then there's both of them being sacrificial assholes in UT. So like canon, Thancred says he's going to become an adventurer⤵️
