a fun part about this chart is you can see the 1973 oil crisis in it.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

MY LATEST: Dollar General will pay at least $15 million to settle claims that it overcharged shoppers at many of its 20,000 stores. Earlier, @jocelynzuck.bsky.social and I reported that the chain failed 4,300+ price-accuracy inspections over four years. @theguardian.com @michaelwhudson.bsky.social
Wrote this fun piece about women who quit their corporate city gigs for Hallmark jobs! It was a real blast to report out (and lowkey inspiring) www.bustle.com/life/hallmar...
Last week, we published an investigation into Poland Spring, the corporate-owned bottled water brand famous in the Northeast.
During a drought this summer, the company said it was cutting back on withdrawals from Maine aquifers, but we found data showing they were pumping even more. Link below:
I spoke with @hellgatenyc.com about our negligent landlord and the dangerous conditions they’ve created in their rent-stabilized buildings (including in my own apartment).

The Trump administration has denied it canceled what would’ve been one of the largest solar projects in the U.S.
I stand by my reporting, as I was first to break the cancelation. A quick thread about why…

Over 2 million people across Italy have rallied in more than 100 cities for a one-day general strike.
ICE just gassed a group a civilians near the Rico Fresh supermarket intersection on Armitage in Chicago - bystanders say this was in response for being heckled from the street.
BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador.
Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.
A Starbucks store was targeted in a viral video that got millions of views after workers didn’t write 'Charlie Kirk' on a cup, in line with Starbucks' cup-writing policies. What followed was terrifying: baristas at the Yucaipa & 6th store faced threats, their personal information was leaked online, and instead of protecting them, Starbucks leadership lied about its own cup-writing policy to Fox News. Starbucks threw baristas under the bus for following its own rules. Now, partners at Yucaipa & 6th just filed to unionize. They’re standing up for safety, community, and each other. And they need you with them! Celebrate Yucaipa partners taking this bold step. Congratulate them with a like and comment to show you are by their side.
Seeing how @sbworkersunited.org seamlessly connects right-wing culture-warring to workplace safety & the need for a fighting American labor movement like this underscores just how poorly most incumbent unions have met this moment despite having more $ and influence: www.fingers.email/upgrade?offe...
Surreal moment for America. Needless to say, if the normal police ever pulled something like this — pulling every single person out of an apartment building and handcuffing them to run warrant checks — they would be sued into oblivion.
Yet ICE is going to get away with it entirely.
JUST IN: A U.S. citizen from Alabama who has been detained twice by ICE while working at a construction site, has filed a class action suit claiming ICE's broad warrantless arrest powers violate the constitution. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
