I don’t know if the United States is in over its head with this Iran operation. But one thing is already clear: Pete Hegseth is. He never should have been confirmed. Putting a cable-news bomb thrower in charge of the Pentagon tells us Trump unequivocally values propaganda over military leadership.
Those rules exist so America doesn’t descend into barbarism. Hegseth treats the possibility of dead kids like a PR problem. A TV pundit playing warrior—bravado, zero credibility. Our country deserves far better than this. It goes without saying that those Iranian children did too.
