I think Greta Thunberg is the best example of how there is no way of protesting that will satisfy the scolds. It'll either be called too aggressive or a self-serving publicity stunt.

I remember when that first high profile case happened, and people were like "well, now at least lawyers will know better than to rely on LLMs to generate their briefs."

The full QC contingent at the hashtag#InnocenceConference (L-R): Taylor Migliori, Marissa Boyers Bluestine, and Chris Alrutz.
QC Assistant Director Marissa Boyers Bluestine moderated an excellent discussion on "when agreed-upon cases go haywire" with Tricia Rojo Bushnell (Midwest IP), Jason Gichner of Tennessee Innocence Project and Kelly Bauder of Marion County (IN) Conviction Integrity Unit.
QC Data Analyst Chris Alrutz spoke on navigating AI in the pursuit of justice with Blair Johnson of the Midwest Innocence Project.
The stage filled with the hundreds of exonerated individuals in attendance, who were incarcerated for more than 5,505 years before being cleared.
The QC team had an inspiring few days learning, sharing, and connecting at the Innocence Network conference in Seattle. We're grateful for this powerful community of exonerees, experts, and advocates all working for a more just system.

Attended my first Innocence Network Conference in Seattle this year. The exoneree celebration last night was profoundly moving. It was gut-wrenching to see the years that were stolen from these fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons, yet so joyous to celebrate their long-overdue freedom with them.

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy
They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
