I'm so old, I remember when Obama signing ONE executive order was tyranny

omg I am so here for the Missouri woman reading from her journal, speaking truth about the exploitation of artists, shocking all those powerful industry people with radical notions about healthcare. #grammys
Chappell Roan just used her Grammy acceptance speech to call out greedy record labels for exploiting artists & described what it was like to live without health insurance during the r pandemic.
"Labels, we got you. But don't got us."
My crankiest belief is that we are now being sold on solutions to problems which only exist because we've let others convince us they exist. That is what "innovation" seems to be in 2025.
There's a level of introspection that's just not happening these days re: what actually needs to bother us.
From a source inside the National Cancer Institute:
βEveryone is scrambling to figure out how weβre supposed to work to serve the public when we canβt engage at all.β
Speaking of healthcare. Let's make @bsky.app the platform that fights misinformation. Some great follows are @drsusanoliver.bsky.social @jsm2334.bsky.social @therealtruther.bsky.social
Let's get them more followers and engagement than other platforms and let health science accounts find a home
Here's what I've heard so far from inside the National Cancer Institute as well as other NIH institutes.
If you threatened to deport a bishop because they advocated for mercy, youβre not a follower of Jesus Christ.
I deleted Facebook. Iβm one of those early millennial adopters and not gonna lie, it feels like cutting off a limb.
A version of Christianity that tramples the poor and marginalized in favor of the rich and powerful is a religion completely at odds with the teachings of Jesus.
This is not really about Mandy Moore (she has access to a richer social network than most of us) and more about how people think they are talking about equivalent things when they in fact are not.
β¦her own family of five and others simultaneously. For billionaires, the question of cash on hand/liquid assets is almost irrelevant. They still couldnβt spend it all if they tried. Our brains just donβt compute the difference between big numbers. 14 mil and one bil sound close but they are not!
So Iβve seen βnet worth is not the same as cash on handβ both in regard to billionaires and Mandy Moore posting a GFM for her brother-in-law. What this tells me is people canβt wrap their head around βbillionsβ. For MM cash on hand is a legitimate question, she genuinely may not be able to helpβ¦
It also makes it harder for them to ban books.
Seeing all my old friends on here again
Hoping that this app takes off so I can finally quit Facebook.
