Had to doublecheck the date on this
I too have noticed this. I’m not sure when exactly but I think for at least the last month or so
Thanks!
My 6 y/o son to me this morning
son: I know everything about Pokémon and I can beat you in a battle.
me: *pushing my glasses up my nose* boy I’ve been playing since 1998.
son: *blank stare*
me: you know…like almost 30 years?
son: dad you’re old
announcer: son used insult. It’s super effective!

Sheesh. Sounds like they’ve never heard of eggs cereal.
Yeah exactly.
Plus no built in file upload/attachment malware scanning. And Salesforce only has synchronous API endpoints with the exception of a few async bulk upload endpoints.
So…who exfiltrated 30Gb of customer data from our new API?!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks XD
tl;dr another staff engineer suggested we build a thin API wrapper around the Salesforce Platform APIs and expose it as an enterprise solution for all internal teams… which implicitly trusts and forwards Salesforce JWTs from clients.
It’s been an uphill battle saying no we can’t do that.
Being asked to do the work of a software architect as a sr software engineer for a team with no manager for a project with no owner, requirements, or budget in order to build a case for a promotion to staff engineer sucks butt. This easily falls in the top 3 most dysfunctional things I’ve ever done.
Next let’s reverse the decision to add more “air” to 3 Musketeers candy bars
Statement on unlawful assembly, arrests at Whipple Building: This morning, our deputies issued dispersal orders at an unlawful assembly outside the Whipple Building after individuals blocked roadways, blocked access to local businesses, dumped glass into the street, and threw rocks, ice chunks and water bottles at law enforcement creating a serious public safety hazard. Arrests are being made. Freedom of speech and peaceful assembly is a right. Endangering the public is not. Unlawful activity including blocking roads, intentionally creating hazards and assaultive behavior will not be tolerated.
From what I saw today firsthand it was the sheriffs today constantly escalating at people protesting peacefully. The sheriffs were masked up like ICE while working hard to agitate and provoke the residents they were sworn to protect, all so they could provide security for ICE who murders people.
When fascists take rights away from a group of people, they never stop there. Eventually, they come for everything. Invalidating the drivers licenses of trans people in Kansas is just the start. Who will be next?

Probably old news by now, but heads up all the same Twin Cities folks.

wfh jobs are super cool until the nanny you depend on to watch your 4 y/o is out sick. And then you’re stuck trying to be productive and lead meetings while your child demands your attention.
That’s 8-10 hours of feeling like a bad dad and not being in top form for work.
Also humming considering that the typical ambient noise generated is that of a fleet of push mowers 24/7

Damn. The people least deserving of a platform always seem to get one to the detriment of society.
Of all the things we are doing in MN, this one is just beyond. Imagine being released from hell alone in the cold. And a total stranger has waited all night with a blanket just to be ready to hug you and carry you home. Every job we do is crucial, but this one is what restores humanity and dignity.
Jesus, I see what you’ve done for other people, and I want that for me
every American reading the UK news this morning
If anyone out there has advice for how to not F-up my first ever chaperone duty for my son’s kindergarten field trip to the Minnesota children’s museum, I’d consider writing you into my will. 5-6 kids seems like a lot of kids to keep track of for half a day.
Where do you think all that money is coming from Tim? Folks have been out of work for fear of being abducted. People are literally fundraising to help pay their neighbors’ rent because SOMEONE won’t broach the subject of eviction moratorium.
Well that’s easily one of the most fucked up things I’ve ever heard of.
That tracks with everything else they’ve done like in the CDC and BLS as well. “The numbers are bad—therefore we won’t be showing the numbers anymore”
Gotta love company town hall meetings
Me:
Hmmm no recording and chat is disabled. I wonder if they’ll address the 40% dip in stock price over the last 12 months and slashing our maximum RSUs from 10% to 5%
Them:
LOL. Let’s do a rapid fire round talking about your favorite colors and things to eat!
Full stack software development makes me weep a little more every day. I just want to be writing code. Instead I get to muck around in Argo CD to try and figure out why the pods are using a different Postgres connection string than expected. Time for a kubectl crash course I guess
US state patrol airplane doing laps
Yeah actually just checked to see if any of them are marked. Looks like state patrol is getting their laps in tonight.
I’m not a plane expert but there have been some pretty damn quiet well lit slow flying planes tonight. I guess they needed something to balance out the drones.
Set off?! You mean further compound?

“At the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis … activists told The Associated Press they had seen agents leaving in vehicles with stuffed animals on their dashboards or Mexican flag decals on their bumpers. Pickups with lumber or tools in their beds were also frequently spotted.”
idk how many government drones a person has to see in their residential neighborhood to start googling “potato cannon drone net” but I’m definitely past that threshold
