Cutting from a manuscript to meet journal word limits can be such a soul-crushing task. All of these words are my babies 😭
We need broad education rich in the humanities AND the sciences for EVERYBODY. We should be pushing that in our vision for the future or whatever exists of it moving forward. Stop letting the tech bros bully you out of your intellectual rights or your civil ones for that matter.
This is what we are robbing our own students of when we are pushing ai in the classroom. What have allowed conservatives to rob young students of. We are trying to fill the deficits of a lack of social science education with ai but it’s only going to make the problem worse.
In cognitive science, sociology and psychology, I learned about things like societal structures, how the brain/mind works, all the years and different psychological theories etc. These are the things that we lose and have lost when the social sciences are systematically unfounded.
the reboot was definitely not good but it was so bad I couldn't look away. I'm glad they're scrapping it

A student interaction yesterday made me consider the fact that in all the talk of why Black boys don’t go to college this week, I didn’t see anyone asking what those college classrooms are missing because Black boys aren’t in them. The negative impact of the systemic failure is not one-sided.
