Make them come in as privates. Don't worry, those dweebs won't last long.
Nah. We could defeat the Iranian military. Occupying the country is something we can't do.
Not our job to fix that for them unless it coincides with our national interests, which rarely seems to be the case. And some (MEK) are just straight up bad people who got kicked out for a reason.
I highly recommend this 9/12 fever dream of a book where two senile retired generals lay out exactly the type of thinking we are seeing executed on today, which is basically just black mail the world with American air power.

These freaks with their Michael Jackson noses and their joker smiles.
A lot of "very serious" people on Twitter seemed to believe it though.
If AI is doing the targeting, it provides the ultimate moral deferment. You can commit any war crime and say, well that black box told me to drop there.
I don't think so either, and as the article points out those expats are also divided on much of this.
I didn't mention skin color. Diasporas represent all sorts of different ethnicities.
No shit, press 1 for English
Dude you gotta see it to believe it

WTF
No, I'm not anti-immigration or anti-refugee, but I do wish certain diasporas who come here would stop lobbying my government to bomb the fuck out of their nation of origin.

The system is actually very clever in the manner in which it sells war by appealing to jingoism when speaking to one half of the population and speaking to women's rights, gay rights, and even cute animal rights when speaking to the other half of the country.
She's right. Kind of dismayed to see people still doing this after we just did the whole "Afghan women" thing a few years ago which of course was another lie. We were never there for that. But lies are like music and fashion, the lies repeat because if someone bought it once they'll buy it again.
Justin Logan quoted! I wonder how the wine shop's going.
"I conjured an entirely imaginary Donald Trump from nothing, there was literally no evidence he'd behave the way I wanted, but I hate liberals, so I had to make do. Now I see that this entirely fictional Donald Trump betrayed my confidence. I am a tiny, flightless, baby bird. I need nectar to live."
We should abolish the United States Senate. It serves no purpose.
🚨BREAKING NEWS: You probably saw the headlines:
“Yakuza Leader Sentenced to 20 Years for Trafficking Nuclear Material”
The problem is that the first two words, of that headline aren’t true

Years ago my team at CNA did a review of the US use of proxies.
A pertinent finding: “Policymakers & the US military should restrict the use of proxies to irregular warfare activities against states or other nonstate armed groups & avoid any temptations to use them as surrogate conventional armies”
I have it on my shelf. Maybe time to dust off tomorrow.
"Western civilization" has always been a fictional identity group with no real meaning beyond contrived political purposes, but it is especially weird to see this kind of talk from an admin that hates NATO, hates European allies, and hates well, western civilization.
A Reddit post from r/Libertarian is titled "The warmongers in the US have gone off the rails" and tagged as "Discussion". The post expresses a Trump voter's dismay at a new war, feeling betrayed by promises of no foreign interventions, and questioning ongoing policy mistakes.

I would not expect them to really give a shit about Iranian Kurds either.
Our press, public, and politicians are totally caught up in a battle haze and unable to form coherent thoughts.
From an anonymous official telling legacy media on background that the Kurds were attacking Iran at America's behest this morning, by the time we arrived in the evening I'm seeing thoughts and prayers posts for Kurdish allies and youtube deep dives on the topic.
I don't know enough about PJAK and the PAK to say, but they sure didn't care about that in Syria when things destabilized there.
