every genAI article is like, have you tried frying up poop before eating it though? have you tried deep frying the poop? and while i don't mind discussing the hows and whys of poop getting into food in theory, i don't like to eat poop, just trying to keep poop out of food. sorry i am a simple guy.
Apparently I'm doing this -- my open letter to that open latter about AI in writing and publishing. I emerged from Hibernation Week to write it, so god only knows how much sense it makes. But at least a human wrote it, so that's nice.

I knit & crochet, and the basics apply to both: swatch first to see if the stitch gauge is even close (and if you like the way the fabric looks/feels). Adjust hook size/pattern if needed (might involve math). Try on frequently (easier with crochet, as you don't have a zillion loose loops). Have fun.
Ah good tips! I have a tendency to get impatient and skip steps like swatches and pay for it later! Need to keep reminding myself that crochet is not a speed sport 😅
Lol yes I can definitely imagine me getting the size completely wrong! You got any tips for a very much beginner? So far I've mainly discovered that stitch markers are my saviour because I really cannot count lol

A postcard, front and back. The front is a picture of a large ship (painted with three horizontal red, black, and stripes) inside a giant building in Oslo, Norway. The ship is the Polar Vessel, having gone both to the North and South polar as far as possible. The back reads: With the oceans gone, there was no place left for the ships to go, and so the sanctuary was built, a ship-sized aquarium (for lack of a better term) for a ship. Just one ship. Only one. See, the builders wondered why they should save more since, without oceans or even lakes, there was no need for ships except as a historical marker, a curiosity, a remembrance of where we had once been and never would be again. The other ships, boats of all sizes and purposes, they rotted on the exposed ocean floor, or became homes for people trying to escape the hungry sun. They kept the flags flying, hoping beyond hope it would rain again.
With the oceans gone, there was no place left for the ships to go.
Ahhh another story rejection at second stage - from a dream market though so I'll take that as a mini win 🥳🖤

Ah woke up to a rejection from a flash piece that had made it past the first round, a special kind of conflicted sadness. Once again back to the writing board 🖤
Ok after just about surviving the violence inducing start to this hobby, I think I might actually nearly be entering the 'maybe it actually could be relaxing' stage.... I might only ever do one stitch, but hey, lots of them make a blanket right?
