My instinct as a person who knows nothing about Japanese but some about pixel fonts is that itβs probably a foolβs errand. The Roman alphabet is already hard enough at that resolution, and my impression is that Japanese characters tend to be more intricate.
I do not fully understand what is going on here, but I do know the joy of getting your computer to make smooth pretty lines between things.

Really interesting stuff though, refusing to engage with games on any but the most passive level. Myself, I would say my enjoyment of games comes from feeling appreciated by themβ If I act proficiently, the game will, in some form, tell me I am proficient.
