๐ It's my birthday this week! ๐
Sadly I still don't have a proper storage solution for working on illustrations & audio/video editing, and likely can't afford one for a while, so if anyone wants to chip in towards a birthday gift, it would be so greatly appreciated โค๏ธ

Alt Text: Yggdrasilโs Reach Weapon (maul), rare (requires attunement) โThis maul consists of a large chunk of roughly hewn stone, and a steel haft forged to look like the branch of a tree. The steel tree branch wraps around the stone maul like roots, and at the end of the pommel is similarly entangled around a bright green emerald. Giant runes are etched into various parts of the maul from the haft to the head.โ You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Barkstep. You can take a Magic action to activate this weapon's magical property and gain the ability to enter a tree and move from inside it to inside another tree of the same kind within 120 feet, for 1 minute. Both trees must be living and at least the same size as you. You must use 5 feet of movement to enter a tree. You instantly know the location of all other trees of the same kind within 120 feet and, as part of the move used to enter the tree, can either pass into one of those trees or step out of the tree youโre in. You appear in a spot of your choice within 5 feet of the destination tree, using another 5 feet of movement. If you have no movement left, you appear within 5 feet of the tree you entered. You can use this transportation ability only once on each of your turns. You must end each turn outside a tree. Once you use this property, you cannot use it again until the next dawn. Immovable Branch. This maul has a button on the pommel you can take a Utilize action or use one attack to press, which causes the weapon to become magically fixed in place. Until you or another creature takes a Utilize action to push the button again, the maul doesnโt move, even if it defies gravity. The maul can hold up to 8,000 pounds of weight. More weight causes the maul to deactivate and fall. A creature can take a Utilize action to make a DC 30 Strength (Athletics) check, moving the fixed maul up to 10 feet on a successful check. If placed on a creature with the Prone condition, they
If you could take one non-weapon magic item in Dungeons and Dragons, and turn it into a weapon, or attach it to one somehow...what would you choose? Our World Tree Barbarian did just that with an Immovable Rod and his Maul. I'm sure I won't this regret this at all.

What do you think of Bastions in D&D 5.5e? I'm happy with the concept, and it's something I've done before. But none of the abilities feel worth it, or the ones that do, are to high level to be useful.
We've been using them in our Discord Campaign, and this is an upgrade to our Wizard's bastion.
There are so many talented, amazing artists out there in the TTRPG space, and I wish we had the resources for everyone. We've sent out a few offers, and hopefully at the rate we've been growing, maybe we can send some more later this year.
Thank you again everyone who contacted us!
Last week we sent out a call for an TTRPG artist to join us at Cloaks and Capes, and got over 55 responses. It was a lot to look through and consider, and I think we were able to respond to everyone!

Magic item card for Dungeons & Dragons 5e by Cloaks and Capes. Text: Frost Giantโs Whisper Instrument (any wind instrument), rare โThis instrument was created from the bones of a fabled frost giant bard. It is forever encased in ice, regardless of how hot the temperature is. When played, it bellows out a cold, frozen mist along its music.โ This magic item has 4 charges, it regains 1d4 charges daily at dawn. You can take a Magic action to expend a charge and discharge cold energy from this magic item in a 15 foot Cone. Any creature in the Cone must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take 2d6 Cold damage and have the Restrained condition as they are encased in ice. On a successful save they take half damage. A creature Restrained by this device must use an Action to break themselves free, or another creature adjacent to them can use an Action to do so. Ice Wall. You can take a Magic action to expend up to 4 charges, creating a wall of ice on a solid surface within 15 feet of you. You form a flat surface made up of 10-foot-square panels, one for each expended charge. Each panel must be contiguous with another panel. If the wall cuts through a creatureโs space when it appears, the creature is pushed to one side of the wall (you choose which side). The wall is 1 foot thick and lasts for an hour, unless destroyed. The wall is an object that can be damaged and thus breached. It has AC 12 and 30 Hit Points per 10-foot section, and it has Immunity to Cold, Poison, and Psychic damage and Vulnerability to Fire damage. Reducing a 10-foot section of wall to 0 Hit Points destroys it.
When I made that flamethrower for the Rogue in my D&D group... you know the Bard needed something too!
Why wouldn't I then give them the chance to be Captain Cold and Heat Wave?

Everyone in D&D could use at least a little bit of lycanthropy.
That is so fucking disgusting.
"My son died, and I want revenge by sending other peoples children over there to die against someone entirely different!"
JFC.
I love playing Dungeons and Dragons. And this is all to say, go check out Margo and their Exoecology for Monster Hunters!
Unbeknownst to them, the Prismatic Ooze was bonded to him to make him a Path of the Gelatinous Brute! So, while stuck on the Ethereal Plane, he raged, covering himself in the equivalent of the Hulk Buster armor...but made out of ooze and reappeared that way the next round.
Players were SHOCKED! 5\5
Halfway through, some henchmen were commanding elemental oozes...and they realized this is the same baddies from the ooze cave! Once they ran into the Barbarian and the Wizard, one of the players used Phase Spider Venom to send the Barbarian to the ethereal plane for one round. 4\5
As the different elemental oozes were captured, a Prismatic Ooze made of Wild Magic appeared and ruined EVERYONES day. But the baddies were able to capture it, and teleport out. Fast forward to this weekend...they were trying to foil a vault robbery, and everyone had weird elemental powers. 3\5
I do weekly D&D one-shots in a persistent homebrew world in my discord, different players most times, and they were sent to investigate some 'weird oozes'. They had to contest with a high level wizard, barbarian, and a bunch of henchman to see who could pokemon capture the elemental oozes there. 2\5
Last night my Dungeons & Dragons party used Phase Spider Venom on an enemy and shunted him into the Ethereal Plane for a turn, and he came back in a Gelatinous Ooze-mech-suit thanks to @margomods.bsky.social, here's the full story! 1\5
Yesssss!!!! He was SO patient with me that campaign, I made so many inventions...an invisibility pill, a crown that pulses lightning and induced Crown of Madness, a lil' pog sized gadget that let me cast shield, a grappling gun, there were more but i can't quite remember them.
That's so cool! I played a Gunslinger Fighter once who was tinkerer, and multiclass into Armorer and my DM was nice enough to let me create my own Armor Model. I got to basically be Mirage from Apex Legends with a tiny bit of Iron Man in there.

Magic item card for Dungeons & Dragons 5e by Cloaks and Capes. Text: Wrist-Mounted Dragonโs Breath Wondrous Item, rare โA small canister of condensed energy siphoned from the plane of fire hidden under a leather bracer. The bracer has a red dragon design embossed onto it, so when the flames shoot forward, it looks like the dragon is releasing them.โ This device has 4 charges, it regains 1d4 charges daily at dawn. You can take a Magic action to expend a charge and shoot flames from this device in a 15-foot-long, 5-foot-wide Line. Any creature in the path of the flames must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 4d6 Fire damage or half as much on a success. Blaze of Glory. As a Magic action you can cause this device to explode in a 15-foot-radius Sphere, expending all remaining charges. Any creature in the blast must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 3d6 Fire damage for each charge expended, or half as much damage on a success. Once you use this property, this device is destroyed.
When the Rogue in your D&D party asks to salvage a flamethrower off of an automaton...
You have to say yes! Will I regret it later? Maybe. Is their reaction and the fun they have worth it? Every time.
What is a Dungeons and Dragons homebrew magic item you've made, or that a DM has made for you?
<3 Excited for the two we have cookin' for the next one!
