Some good news, at least!
This gives me some hope. And I am definitely seeing it.
I'm preparing to drive 13 hours to Pennsylvania so that tomorrow I can set up my art booth to vend at a show (a show that I've been deeply looking forward to). And all I can think is, who TF is going to buy tiaras and necklaces and original art when we're in the middle of a coup? I'm panicking.
I'm glad we went, but how long will this last us? How long before any of us at the bottom can't afford food? Or until there's nobody inspecting the meat, making sure food is safe, tracking bird flu? What does that even look like?
I mostly live off of eggs, chicken, and fresh salad vegetables. I want to stock up on meat, but we have a tiny freezer. We didn't even buy all that much, and we each spent over $300. It was ludicrous how little that much bought us.
Last night, I told my partner about the tariffs and said, we need to try to stock up. Of course, for me, stocking up is complicated. I have various food issues that limit my diet. There's very little shelf-stable food I can eat without inflammation.
So we went for a midnight shopping run 1/
Thank you!
While life is very complicated at the moment, I will say that this part of my life never, ever gets old. :)
This is so very much, unfortunately, accurate. I can't survive without rehoming the occasional shiny piece of art or jewelry, unless I can find something part time where I can actually get hired. I've been self employed for 20 years, and applying for jobs is a sh!tshow to begin with.
I'm certainly up to doing more Zoom calls either as a consultant, or for a group. There are some things I just can't teach virtually (singing and chanting techniques, or facilitation techniques that require a live group) but we can talk through some things for sure.
I certainly would love to teach more classes again if I can do it in a way that brings in enough money to be worth my time (and almost always, traveling and teaching put me in the hole financially).
I really, really miss teaching on topics of leadership, facilitation, and the rest of it. Pretty much the only teaching I'm doing these days is at Pagan conventions, Mythicon, or events like Gen Con or other geeky events where I can focus my topics on a geeky community vs. a Pagan one.
nother check in the "win" column. The other day I got to to a Zoom session with someone looking to for some assistance with Pagan leadership questions on how to deal with a specific group issue. It felt really good to be able to be of service and help someone with that, and get paid for my time.
I honestly didn't know how I was going to keep going with as much of a struggle as it's been lately to wrangle my brain.
I've been waiting about eight months for this appointment, so that was excruciating all on its own. I'm grateful this was the actual assessment.
I finally had my ADHD assessment today and soon I'll be starting meds to see what works. I'd heard so many horror stories about women trying to get late diagnosed, but it went well, I was listened to, and it's such a relief I'm actually in tears at the moment.
I love your work! Absolutely in love with your swoopy art nouveau lines :D
We definitely need events here on Bluesky!
I really hope that Bluesky eventually allows for slightly longer posts here. Brevity, not my gift.
The important tasks that would bring in money so I can, you know, pay bills.
With people jumping from Meta products, and with how poorly vending events have done the past year, it's terrifying right now as an author/artist/creative.
I keep forgetting to post here, and on the sky of blue. Short-form posts hurt my brain (thanks audhd). But, I haven't posted much over on FB either because, depression/fatigue has been really bad lately, and I just get super stuck in my damn head. I've been struggling to get tasks done.

These are the nonfiction books I have available. They are also available as e-books. I shall post the relevant links in comments :)
These books will be of most interest to folks involved in Pagan or similar communities.
Well...I discovered the solution to several of my plot problems for some of my paranormal romance stories is in the Preiddeu Annwfn and related texts. Been grinding on some of these issues for a long while.
But, when isn't the solution the lore around several different Celtic cauldrons? lol
I always have a ton of projects in process. I'm currently working on about 6 different novels, though I've got one paranormal romance that's on the verge of being finished and sent to beta readers. I've also got a good twenty paintings in progress at the moment. :)
To be fair, my partner and I don't decorate for the holidays, and we don't really attend much in the way of holiday anything, so it makes sense that I forgot that other people do decorate.
Now excuse me while I go add in a Christmas tree and a holiday wreath or two to the Tierney mansion, and probably to Grace's workplace.
Hilarity: I am writing a holiday paranormal romance taking place in 1943...and I realized I never added in anything like Christmas decorations to the MMC's house. D'oh. To be fair, they are busy fighting an influx of Fae trying to eat people.
Oops.
More of my pen and ink originals
At the moment, these are the only two books I have with paperback versions. However, I will soon be doing print versions of some of my novellas, and I am feverishly working in finishing up a few more books, including the sequel to Truth Upon Her Lips. You can buy signed copies directly from me :)
