First was a fantastic talk by @eugeniaunivie.bsky.social on interrogating the notion of "trustworthy AI" at @oii.ox.ac.uk. Stamboliev incisively picks apart this concept, proposing a move to "democratic trustworthiness." Highly recommend www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH4j... (2/10)
In their book, Move Slow and Upgrade: The Power of Incremental Innovation, Evan Selinger and Albert Fox Cahn argue society is over-fixated on disruptive innovation and needs to adopt an “upgrader’s mindset,” which should be applied whenever “disruptive changes would pose the greatest social risk.”
Welcome to the world of bonkers ethics… where everything you like or don’t like, or understand or don’t understand, or simply can spell and use to fit your whatever argument, is #AIethics.

Whose interests does AI actually "encapsulate"?
Current debates on Trustworthy AI focus heavily on technical accuracy and safety. But is that enough for a democracy?

Ladies and gentlemen, bored humans, here a speech without content, praise without substance and a speaker as brainless robot screen interface. The future of mankind is a sad, eternal and empty reading of the same and generic ‚AI is amazing’ summary from a tiny screen

The last days and weeks, media and people around me can’t stop praising this #clawbot #moltbot nightmare (ok mostly, Austrians), and one effect is, it shows well for whom ethics and privacy was noble talk, b/ forgotten when new profit margins move closer.

What a cringy/tragic classic; Austrians are showing off like little kids with this AI ‚innovation’ but to the world, we’re yet just another Australian (or German) dude.
‚…released in November by the Australian software engineer Peter Steinberger, could come together and do whatever they wanted.‘
The stance that #SaraAhmed took when starting the debate on complaint as a powerful and needed concept and way of life, was life changing for me.
Happy Saturday 🌈 and have a nice read 👇🏻

EVERYTHING is a battle or war these days 😞
«For the far right, what’s more important is an aesthetics of domination. The Trump administration is flooding our senses without regard for coherence, in the hope we exhaust ourselves trying to make sense of something that’s completely contradictory or willfully absurd.» #MemeFascism
Yep problem solved, check.
I get your point and agree, interesting question, as I simply think men are lucky not being used as objects. technically speaking, Grok should not know the difference, right? But it’s much more than ‚blame AI‘, it’s a massive (old) culture, business and politics behind it
Dear Joanna, not sure I get the questions. hopefully, we agree that most AI imagery apps are cashing in on non consensual sexual imagery of women. wouldn’t say men are equally ‚disrobed‘ (undressed?). B/ to me it’s more about women‘s right to their image &represent.: less about dressing scale.
Well, it’s not just an ‚undressing‘ problem (at least quotation marks), it’s systemic violence and gendered discrimination, so let’s say it. And, it’s not fixable, because it was never an error, but the business model throughout.
‚Two decades of BigTech funding for safety science has taught us that the grantwashing playbook works every time. Internally, corporate leaders pacify passionate employees with token actions that seem consequential. External scientists take the money, get inconclusive results, and lose public trust‘
‚content took the form of fake broadcast news segments with anti-immigrant narratives and material sexualising female bodies, including girls that appeared to be underage. The female body category accounted for half of the top 10 most active accounts, said AI Forensics‘
