Live posting council meetings doesn't feel the same on BlueSky compared to Twitter but oh well

The nameplates on this section of the dais in council chambers routinely fall off without anyone touching them.

Existing infrastructure? The dais is, but the nameplates probably are not. Gotta investigate what's causing the issue to determine if railway funds could be used to resolve.

Protect My Public Media Take a stand for the local stations and programs you love.

WVXU will be okay if we lose this federal funding. But many stations across the country will NOT be okay.

When people hear where I work, they often tell me how much they love WVXU and NPR. It's so nice to hear! I hope those folks are also telling their friends, family, and elected officials.

Please consider taking action and financially supporting local journalism.

The local journalism of WVXU is NEVER behind a paywall. It's always free, on air and online.

That's also true for smaller NPR/PBS stations that are covering areas with even fewer journalists than Cincinnati, and that rely more heavily on CPB funding to operate.

House votes to kill funding for public media The U.S. House voted Thursday on a rescission bill to claw back money for foreign aid programs, along with the next two years of funding for the public media system. The measure now goes to the Senate...

If you've ever appreciated one of my articles, or reporting from any of my news colleagues, or a traffic/weather report on WVXU, or even one of my hilarious tweets, please consider voicing support for continued federal funding for public broadcasting.

Pureval considering ordinances for Cincinnati in response to neo-Nazi demonstration in Lincoln Heights One possible ordinance would prohibit openly carrying a weapon with your face covered.

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval: "We're working with urgency, because we recognize that people are scared and they expect their elected officials to protect them and fight back, and that's that's exactly what we intend to do."
