Really hoping for a hummingbird. Never seen one

Northern Mockingbird. Pale below and grey in the back with white outlines on the wings. A perky expression and a longish tail. Standing on a green ground

White-chinned Thrush. Pale grey below and darker grey wings and head. Bright orange bill and feet. Perched on a wire.

Two Yellow-billed Amazons. Chatty parrots! All shades of green and a yellow bill. White eye rings and the upper one has a red throat.

White-winged Dove. Perched on a wire. Grey belly, pale brown breast and back with a white leading edge to the wing and bright red feet.

Another four residents of Hope Botanical Gardens, here in Kingston, Jamaica. A beautiful park, right on the edge of the urban area at the foot of forested hill slopes behind.

A Killdeer, a large plover standing on stoney ground, with a brown back, orange eye ring, white breast and, unusually, two black bars across it.

Another happy moment, driving around the construction site here in Kingston. I thought I was hearing the tracks of an excavator squeaking, but then realised it was birds, very close to the car! Killdeer are largish plovers with an unusual two black bars across the breast.

An Olive- throated Parakeet perched on a small branch. It has a bright green wing, duller green head and darker olive underside. A white eye ring and pale bill complete the description.
