Designed in 1893 by architects Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler, the Chicago Stock Exchange Building was celebrated as an architectural masterpiece.
And its crown jewel was the breathtaking Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room.

Good guy! He starred in the pilot that was my very first job in TV.
Well this rules!
Central Jersey represent!
But they absolutely NAILED Tom Ewell.
This guy looks a *little bit* like Henry Fonda.
This enormous Tom Ewell will devour us all!
Yes one of my favorites.
Luke got the Darth Maul treatment
And more!
More Fox Film Studios Fun. These soundstage murals are pretty great.
WHAT’S MY LINE host John Daly!
We did them on F IS FOR FAMILY (Netflix) and I found them highly effective and creatively exciting.
Tried to respond to someone in gmail, clicked a few millimeters to the wrong side and it generated an entire dumbass reply full of assertions I would never have made. I hate this! Just let me write my own dumbass reply!
Rewatching F is for Family and I love this absolute freak
Exactly!
BTW: this is a real door on the side of the soundstage the mural is painted on.
And it’s not Abby Normal!
I’m in Season 5 of my third rewatch. It’s still astonishingly good. Grows better each time I watch it.
Oops! I thought you were asking about the Die Hard mural. This one is across the way from where we do our table reads.
Strange but true!
I’ll bet Katie Fineran was amazing. I saw her in NOISES OFF in 2001 and she stole it from Patti LuPone, Peter Gallagher, Faith Prince AND Edward Hibbert.
It’s a beautiful lot.
I thought DHP was okay but Stadlen was hilarious in how I imagine David Burns must have played it.
🎶 HOORAY FOR CENTURY CITY… 🎶
Oh yes.
They put that back in for the Bette Midler revival but I found it a deadly Act 2 opening. To be fair to the material, David Hyde Pierce was not an ideal Vandergelder, but even Lewis J Stadlen (who was great in the tour with Betty Buckley) couldn’t put it over.
Yes! I’ll snap those and add em to the thread later today or tomorrow.
