I attended my first ever pony play competition yesterday and trotted home with my first ribbon and trophy!

I won third place in the Barrel Race and won the Pony Spirit Award!

At yesterday’s event mention of Vet Play and Farrier Scenes were mentioned within earshot of me and I damn near melted into the grass beneath me.

Finally got together a new harness, mane and tail for my @wildgasmasks.bsky.social pony. Strutting around at EFM

And even then it may take several attempts to find effective medication. And even even then then you’ll still have low days. It’s still better than having them all the time though.

Also, genuinely truly, examine the possible of depression with your doctor. I had that real bad until I started taking anti-depressants. It can be shocking how much untreated depression can obliterate your enthusiasm to do anything at all.

And even then when I started getting active in pony play I learned my connection to *that* was way stronger and more intimate and far far more intense than anything I ever experienced as part of the furry fandom.

No need to feel bad about it. For a lot of people their fursona is just a mascot. It’s extremely common. For some it’s spiritual, for others it’s aesthetic. I’ve been in the furry community for 25 years and I didn’t feel especially connected to my fursona til, like, my 7th character when I turned 40

Super psyched for tomorrow! My first ever human pony competition! We’re doing trail races, barrel races, stake races, pole bending, showmanship, and more!

I totally want to bring my mother in law to a pony event one of these years. I think she would be delighted by it.
