Headcanon reason, IDK. However there is a production explanation and that satisfies me. Short version: Ships were never intended to have their own insignia, but it happened by mistake a couple of times.

I'm strongly of the opinion that personal stakes are far more compelling than galactic stakes. If it were just Caleb and his mother on the line, I'd still be invested. Ake and Braka facing off in a Wrath of Khan-scale battle of wits would be a great finale, IMO. Fingers crossed they don't overdo it!

Mixed feelings about that penultimate SFA episode, but I think it washes out as a net positive. Huge stakes were inevitable I suppose, but I still really appreciate that it hasn't been every episode.

I really enjoy Nahla Ake as a character. Holly Hunter is such a natural fit for Star Trek, IMO.

I've been working on a fun new Trek design project for the last few days and made some good progress. It's a bit different to anything I've done before and is *maybe* even a bit of a spicy take!

Maybe 'flock' would be a more appropriate Romulan term. 😄
