A series of photos of a bar of soap on a rope shaped like the Mutter museum’s β€œSoap Lady”, a saponified corpse fished out of an alkali bog. The soap looks like a person lying down, their hands resting lightly on their thighs. Their mouth is wide open in possibly a scream, and sunken pits are her eyes.

It’s pretty upsetting.

I bought a bunch of Christmas gifts from them once and they gave me a free Soap Lady Soap

Eventually my partner asked that I not keep it in the shower because it freaked her out

It was really good soap

I’m not picky, I’d settle for a firing squad

No disagreement with your original point, but Oslo is surprisingly diverse

my local park is full of hundreds of snow sculptures and someone has been adding museum labels

My relief when Ctrl-f β€œEpstein” shows nothing

Would that require a constitutional amendment?

Rotating SCOTUS! Thank you, nobody’s pushing for that but it’s a much better solution than expanding the court

Thank you. And an overwhelming majority of Americans got the vaccine! It’s a vocal minority who suck, and unfortunately they’re in charge

When you get your woman card, they make you flip a coin. Heads they don’t like you because you don’t know enough, tails they don’t like you because you know too much. The results of the coin flip are orthogonal to how much or little you know.

And a lot of the sales pitch for LLMs has been β€œyou can fire all your pesky workers!”

The billionaires have done everything in their power to get Trump elected and advance his policies. Each of them has 1000 times as much blood on their hands as any ICE officer

Just shocked to learn the platform that’s half tulip mania, half money laundering, has ties to Epstein!

I thought you meant just a big glass of milk straight-up, but that’s more of a boomer thing. Lattes? No way they’re taking that from us

While the pasty incels who work the federal agencies continue to churn out feeble, bloodless AI pastiches of Axis propaganda, here’s how a living breathing artist powerfully invokes design history. This is by illustrator Emily K in South Philly, a free poster-sized download on her website: β†’

The two easy access comprehensive lists that I want handy are a list of all the Nazi dog whistles republicans used (like the CPAC rune!) in the last 16 or so years and also a list of which billionaires are creating, profiting or advancing the police state with stuff like Palantir.

Why aren’t we protesting in front of billionaires’ homes? We know who’s paying for the ballroom, buying legacy media - Ellison, Thiel, Andreesen, none of these ghouls should get a good nights sleep

I just realized who he reminds me of: Hillary Clinton. He’s got the same stilted, unnatural cadence, it’s wild

I think primarying should be the default position, and we only support incumbents who’ve really proven themselves

Although in other ways you couldn’t imagine two more dissimilar men, Wiener’s ferociously active spirit resembles the Bolshevik antsiness of Donald Trump. The current president is attractive to some voters who might not agree with his values, or his language, or even his policies, but who like that the president is, well, *presidenting*. Last year, Trump bulldozed the East Wing of the White House, one of the most recognizable historic sites in the United States. In Democratic cities, people demand 38 meetings and three dozen environmental assessments before tearing down a crack den to build a nursery for sad orphans. Voters, Wiener argues, want politicians who are β€œwilling to break glass to get those things done.”
