I asked Gemini about Roosevelt Island, and in its answer it said "Despite its proximity, the reliance on the tram or the F train as the main transportation links contributes to a feeling of being disconnected from the เฎฎเฎฑเฏเฎฑ other boroughs."
Apparently "เฎฎเฎฑเฏเฎฑ" is a Tamil word for"other"!
Hey PayPal! I just tried to delete my account. You offered to delete all my data, first. "How nice" I thought and clicked that link. Then you wanted an email address but the form could not be filled in! And it wouldn't let me continue without an email. Catch 22! Now I can't delete my account.
Most streetlights look like that to me because I have cataracts. Maybe your camera needs cataract surgery?
When life gives you tape, make tapenade.
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll contribute to the global overdepletion of the ocean.
So give him a salad, maybe.
Let the game begin. #SkoBuffs
#Dev2Next is finishing up and it's been a great conference. I hope I can go to the next one.
Train wreck in Boulder last night. Both conductors with minor injuries. I swear that I heard it from my bedroom. My usual walking commute got reported, but I could still get these pictures of the trains. #BoulderTrainWreck
image detection training captcha showing Magritte's painting 'La Trahison des Images' captioned 'select all squares with une pipe, if there are none click skip'

Close up of a red and white spider in a web
I found this one this morning. Any idea what it is?
18 years and counting. Kubuntu is good, I wish it got more support.
This is why I hoped that it stays invite-only forever. With exponential growth there isn't going to be a shortage of legit invites, and it would stop the bots from just generating accounts at will. What is the down side?
Will the description in the book prevent it from being patented, like the way "Stranger in a Strange Land" pre-empted the patent for a water bed? (I'm guessing not)
Did the show complete? Or did the rains hit before the end?
I miss the mouse-over text! Maybe put that in the alt-text field? Or as a reply?
Two burritos, two canned drinks, a bike light, hand sanitizer, Cliff Bars, and more.
It's Colorado's annual Bike to Work Day. I collected enough stuff for breakfast and lunch, plus stickers for my laptop
Is that from the live action version of "The Aristocats"?
I love that place. I eat there fairly often. Great empanadas!
An interesting take on Eloon's Twitter takeover. It might even be right...
Already read it. It was very good. That description is accurate, if slightly immediate.
Shouldn't like density be more important than number of likes. Someone with a thousand followers is going to get 100 likes if 1 of every 10 followers likes it. But if a user with 50 followers gets 40 likes, I think that is a stronger signal of a good post.
Congrats. I did the same and don't miss it at all
Thread on why I have sympathy for the orcas sinking boats:
When I started snorkeling and diving, I saw what was beneath the waves for the first time. It was really beautiful, and really sad. Whole coral forests are dying, and itโs hard for people to notice because the surface looks the same.
A plant based diet isn't one-size-fits all. There are infinitely many variations within that framework. Many are radically different.
It got it mostly right, but wrong in the bit about not writing poetry!
You wrote "The text of deleted posts is still visible in your repo." I think this is a clear violation of GDPR. My understanding is that if a user requests data to be deleted you have something like a month to remove it from your servers.
I was just thinking about this. Why not keep it invite only? With exponential growth it could still become ubiquitous, but the knowledge of who invited a bad actor might have a beneficial effect. The invitor can be punished, and that might change behavior. Why open it up completely?
Congrats on the book, Amir. Your story is a bit like my wife's. Her mother had to fight for her to get therapy, and then we did the same for our daughter. That daughter who is now in a doctorate program in psychology. Dyslexia is an obstacle, but not a death sentence.
Twitter used to routinely challenge Turkeyโs takedown requests
Erdogan actually had Twitter banned in Turkey in 2014 for refusing to comply. (the courts later ended the ban.)
but that was on the โcensorshipโ version of Twitter, not this new โfree speechโ one
