For there is nothing mysterious about the foundations of a healthy and strong democracy. The basic things expected by our people of their political and economic systems are simple. They are: Equality of opportunity for youth and for others. Jobs for those who can work. Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege for the few. The preservation of civil liberties for all. The enjoyment of the fruits of scientific progress in a wider and constantly rising standard of living.

It was clear to me that they understood their limits. I took that "get away with" phrase to mean consequences in general, both from mortals and from a "will other immortals dislike me for acting on my impulses" perspective.
(That probably sounds sarcastic, but I don't mean it to be. The facial expressions are one of the best parts of EGS, and I've been following for years.) π
I just love the way you draw facial expressions. Always a highlight of my day.
π This post started as a quoteskeet, but I ended up writing way more than I thought I would lol

A pencil drawing of a cartoony phone, with the words "what do I do on my phone?" Around it are examples of the many things I do on my phone: I talk to my friends. Sometimes, I even make new friends. I check weather. I set alarms to stop forgetting. I add people to my CSS webring. I read books! I track my health. I listen to music. I do my banking. I identify stars or planets. I watch videos. I time my watch. I learn new things. I doomscroll. I push quick fixes to my websites. I book taxis. I post photos for family. I plan journeys. I read the news. I navigate. I play games. I calculate. I do the food shop. I contact medical practices. I take photos. Sometimes, I make calls!!! I read/write emails. I write lists: - packing - to do's - shopping I note ideas. I (have to) use it for life admin (why is everything an app nowadays?). I browse the web. I draw. I translate. I collect loyalty points. I buy stuff. I entertain my kids. I buy/sell/give away stuff locally. I identify plants.
The talks at @beyondtellerrand.com inspired me to think about a lot of things, but one thing struck me:
That I use my phone a LOT, but I don't always *see* the phone, I'm much more intent on the people I'm contacting through it, the tasks I'm completing or the new stuff I'm learning while using it:
Phantomarine and your characters always make me smile. Thank you!
I actually like math so long as I have something to use it for.
I was always confused by people not liking word problems. βBut those make it all make sense!β
Woah. Didn't see that coming. π³
(whoops, if I had read more closely, I'd have seen that you mentioned that ast-grep already.)
FTL: Faster Than Light is sort of this. Great game.
You control a few things yourself, but you have to order your crew around to do a lot.
Last year, Republicans silenced her.
This year, many stood beside her and defeated four anti-trans bills.
This is the power of standing up for your beliefs and for what's right, and good trouble.
National Democrats, take notice.

I made this. It's nice to look at. It's free.

Has anyone tried both Custom GPTs and Claude Projects? I've only used Claude Projects, and I'm curious how they compare. #chatgpt #claude

Montgomery County Public Schools comes out and tells Trump to pound sand with his EO telling schools that they have to discriminate against transgender students.
This is how you refuse to comply.
This is the best thing Iβve ever seen on the internet. My new life moto.
The orange gremlin and his henchmen have power again, and it is depressing as hell. But I will not stop doing what is right just because those in power believe in hate.
Everyone is welcome here.

"Masculine energy" that isn't working to protect the vulnerable, isn't. You're just a regular asshole.
A logo of a "Prohibited" sign in green rather than red. In the border there is written "We do not test on animals, we test in production". A drawing of a rabbit with a heart next to it is in the upper part of the logo, a drawing of a server bay in flames in the bottom part.

Okay, I'll be the voice of reason.
Cottage cheese is gross. Bleh. π
Same; I do this when I get sick, too. I figure it might give my immune system extra "materials" to work with.
That looks *fun* -- want.
It doesn't have the neat rhyme with the original, but maybe "I don't have a dog in this show"
Fun!
We got some pop-its this year, purchased on NYE. Always a fun little crack.
I'm not sure about sparklers. My wife bought the fireworks, and when I asked about sparklers, she just said she skipped them on purpose for safety reasons. π€·ββοΈ
