I found there was something to discover around every corner. I never made it much past Banbury (to the north) on my walks, most of the walking was within a dozen or so kilometers around Oxford & there was so much to see and notice.
I'm sure hoping! Last couple years have not been kind to me in the sunflower world. Last year I only had one "Mexican Sunflower" survive to bloom, none of the "regular" or giant sunflowers made it.
Walking along the canal was my favorite place to walk when I lived there. It's still my favorite walking of any place I've lived.

Ukraine would be a peaceful place today if it didn't trust the USA (& Russia, UK- Budapest Memorandum) & kept it's nuclear weapons
Mine takes over, I have to give most of it away every year just to stay "even". I suspect it will come back, and then some, and then with a vengeance!

Late to post today. This group of alligators weren't just waiting in place, these flowed effortlessly through the water.

Closest thing was maybe Americorps, which the current administration dismantled (a DOGE victim). I knew people working with them in Alaska who were left stranded there.
and of course they buy stuff with short shelf lives that will spoil, not cans of beans than can last out a disaster, nope, lets get some milk that will last 5 days, but only 2 if we lose electricity.
I wonder if they were built during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps, like many of the Hocking Hills' trails were.
