Last night I was down a rabbit hole of why fish can't exist deeper than around 8000 meters and I realized that the deepest a fish has ever gone in the ocean and survived was in a submersible. The fish were people. All vertebrates are fish.

I hope this helps with ~~the horrors~~

Fun note on this article, this company uses comfyUI, which boasts a collection of some of the most unethical and exploitative GenAi models.

This whole deal is Netflix normalizing the exploitation of the creative workersβ€”whose works GenAi companies stole to train their modelsβ€” they hope to replace.

UK arts must not be sacrificed for speculative AI gains, peers say Ministers urged to abandon plans to let tech firms use work of novelists, artists and writers without permission The UK’s creative industries must not be sacrificed in the pursuit of speculative gains in AI technology, a House of Lords committee has warned, as the government prepares to reveal the economic cost of proposals to change copyright rules. A report by peers has urged ministers to develop a licensing regime for the use of creative works in AI products and abandon proposals to let tech firms use the work of novelists, artists, writers and journalists without permission. {I'm ngl, the Latino comments drive me extra crazy bc 1) their family owned a construction company for decades and they were always telling me about the importance of making sure you pay your laborers in cash and 2) their ancestors came over from France w/Maximilian TO ILLEGALLY SETTLE IN MEXICO}

One of the many exhausting things about capitalism is it doesn’t facilitate taking on pro-bono work or even spec work for something you’re really passionate about with no budget. A lot of the work I do β€œfor free” is the most satisfying to me but I can only do it because of my day job.
