years ago they allowed users to create a custom programmable search engine interface. I've clung to that and the relevance of results is definitely superior.

The power of the American legal profession, a cartel that regulates itself, is immense. Its unique power in the US has been noted since Tocqueville. So the fact that many law firms and bar associations have been folding to the administration so far has been something of a puzzle.

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

Trump Has Been Sued 198 Times for Withholding Funding. It Hasn’t Stopped Him. (Gift Article) Immigration demands for highway dollars, D.E.I. rules for homeless grants: how Trump has tried to wield spending to get his way.

We've been tracking nearly 200 lawsuits against the Trump administration over its attempts to leverage federal funding to impose the president's agenda.

The most startling pattern: The administration seems entirely undeterred when it loses in court.

This is very much the attitude within CBP (as evidenced in witness video, body cam video, and their own words in their reports), everyone is a professional protester, agitator, antifa, or gang memberβ€”but they are all the enemy.

I voted on Election Day religiously until 2004 - the images of voters standing in line in Ohio stayed with me.

I'll tell anyone who will listen to vote early in the midterm.

This Day in Labor History: March 1, 1932. The Norris-LaGuardia Act passed the Senate by a 75-5 vote and was signed by President Herbert Hoover a few days later. This outlawing the most loathsome tactics used by employers against workers!!!

I can't say how I stumbled upon this old post, but I'm glad I did. The Nation that Never Was needs to be read/re-read this year, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
We need to reflect on the fact that it was a document of secession, not about Liberty and Justice for All.

Seized Art, Eavesdropping Guards: Parents Describe a Clampdown at Dilley Detention Center as Kids Shared Their Stories Detainees told ProPublica that art supplies have been removed in room searches, immigrants have lost access to Gmail and staff hover within earshot during video calls.

Amid what detainees say is a clampdown in Dilley, TX, including seizures of kids' drawings and crayons, Christian Hinojosa stuffed letters in her jacket to hide them from guards. She told @micarosenberg.bsky.social and me her story. We published the letters today.

More good ideas coming out of Minnesota! πŸ‘‡My only change would be to up the ceiling for the bounty amount to $10,000. There almost certainly will be more than one wage theft/tax fraud victim, and the informant almost certainly is taking a significant economic risk in talking to authorities.
