Me watching stripes and return of the living dead (the only movies I can think of filmed in Louisville (except return of the living dead is just set in Louisville and filmed in LA))
No flotilla coverage?
Content warning: blood, serious head injury. A woman was run down and trampled and clubbed by LAPD officers on horseback. She appears to be seriously injured and bleeding from the head as an officer drags her limp body along the pavement.
Four LAPD officers on horseback surround a man laying on the ground, trample him, and beat him with their polycarbonate "saber" batons.
From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING Choose your Leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery. -Octavia E. Butler, Parable of the Talents

Letterpress printer and artist Brad Vetter is standing at a podium in front of a projector screen. The screen is orange uuwith white text that says “Freedome of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one.”
A view looking through a doorway. There are handpainted signs, ladders, and stacks of materials visible.
A bouquet of cut flowers and herbs including roses, sage, lavender, bachelor’s buttons, peas and one flower I can’t name that looks kind of like a snapdragon.
People in kayaks in a creek. The person taking the photo is holding a bag of vegan jerky.
Some sweet moments from this week: a presentation from @bradvetter.bsky.social, time spent in my studio, making bouquets from my front yard, and being in a creek with friends and snacks.
Three kayaks in a creek with blue skies
A beautiful double-decker waterfall in the woods
My shirt, kayak and water bottle are all obnoxiously yellow
Touching grass in an acid-yellow theme
This is what we talk about when we use terms like “car-centric” or “pedestrian-centric” design. The current setup tells pedestrians that your time is less valuable than drivers and that your safety comes second.
Twice today I’ve approached an intersection on foot as the light changed and had to choose between waiting for another light change or walking into traffic without a guarding light
One quick and instant thing we could do to make #louisville more pedestrian friendly would be to change the crosswalk light functionality. Currently, you have to be waiting at the intersection with the button pressed BEFORE the light changes to get right-of-way. Why not have this be automatic?
A person is walking into a building with a sign that says “Billy Bob’s Wonderland” near Huntington, West Virginia. The person’s mind is about to be blown.
The Rockafire Explosion band is performing to about four elated adults. Pictured are animatronic puppets of Dook, Fatz, Beach Bear and Mitzi. All were functioning!
Our bug out plan is to meet at Billy Bob’s where we will survive on pepperoni and jelly beans.
I’ve found beauty, acceptance, awe, & gratitude for parts of my body that I had previously viewed negatively because of tattoos. Getting tattooed has also helped me to have more ownership and authorship of my little flesh prison. If you can’t make body positivity at home, store bought is fine 💚
A fortune cookie that says “Call that person you are thinking about” with out-of-focus friends in the background
You and me: 🤝 bringing it back!
All this to say, I will be putting maps on everything from now on.

You guessed it, another hand drawn map!
A black and white flyer with xerox collage and hand drawn map
Got to check out Don’t Tell Me You Care: A History of Louisville Music Through Flyers at Portal last night, a treat for anyone interested in community archives, xerox art, collage, punk etc. My favorite thing was all of the hand-drawn maps! Some could’ve been as small as 1” when printed.
Rage room!!!
Wooden frame with calligraphy that says “a friend hears the song in my heart…and sings it to me when my memory fails” with dried seed pods in the corner.
The paper on the back of the frame says: “June 18, 1994. 39 years old. From best friend, Trish Fagan (Finally displayed August 11, 1994)”
Repurposing frames. Got this one for $1 from habitat, had to honor Trish Fagan who made this for a friend 31 years ago
lol that’s my buddy Sean
SO GOOD
Must read: Mahmoud Khalil speaks out for the first time since his arrest by the Trump administration in an exclusive letter, dictated over the phone to his family, from ICE detention in Louisiana.

Enjoy me ruining photos of my work because I can’t figure out how to not be in the reflection!
Can we please have these back
Substack? I follow a few fantasy writers and fiction authors on there.
Two people — facing away from each other — are making scrunched faces at the same without knowing it because they are related.
POV: you show up to my show early to vibe with me and my dad.
