Yes, OpenClaw is why we can't have nice things
Has anyone here gotten any paper reviews from reviewer 2.5 (that is, clearly LLM generated)? How bad was it?
I feel we all have to be Blade Runners nowadays. We need to be good at detecting AI content.
What I wonder whether this means that we will now reject perfect looking people as AI generated and untrustworthy.
Maybe "real" looking people will be considered more trustworthy.
Here's the demo: There are sections for both uv/rv: youtu.be/7MfR4twZoOQ
If there is interest, I can make the demo portion available as a video.
I demo using uv/rv sync with Positron in both R and Python, and discuss how to start your projects
The second workshop, Package Management for R and Python focuses on using uv/rv to manage your packages in a reproducible way, with some discussion about other methods such as binder and Dockerfiles: hutchdatascience.org/package-mana...
The first workshop, Making Code Ready for Publication, focuses on setting up your project and repository. There is a social learning activity, so you can easily give this workshop in your group: hutchdatascience.org/making-code-...
A couple of workshops we've recently given:
- Making Code Ready for Publication
- Package Management for R and Python

This video is resonating with me. I've become more irritable to smaller things as I get older, and it's good to know that my nervous system is recalibrating. youtu.be/195Fb-YnLXo?...
Do we need linters for English now?
Always down to the wire. Got my #positconf2026 submission in, hope everyone gets theirs in as well!
@hrbrmstr.dev caught my eye with an issue of his newsletter dedicated to Markdown. Of special interest to is md-browser, which translates webpages to Markdown and is a nice way to get to the actual content. Also really interested in electrobun. dailydrop.hrbrmstr.dev/2026/02/12/d...

You can definitely do it pretty easily - here's some leaflet/mapview on one of our pages: datathon-winter-2025.netlify.app/mapview.html
Yup - it is hosting the html pages so people can see the maps
Trying out #databot for exploring endangered languages of the world for #TidyTuesday
I know some about spatial analysis using {sf}, so I work with #databot to visualize the data spatially. #rstats #databs

I have a sudden desire to go play Stardew Valley after seeing this
My mom and her friends are pretty bloodthirsty when they play Scrabble. I don't even rate...
Happy new year to all the #databs #rstats #python #datascience folks. I wish I felt more optimistic but I can at least see some positive things on the horizon.
Yeah to Yes
Very interesting- mini roundabouts seem more like a suggestion than actual infrastructure
I used the free version of Highway Gothic (the roadsign font), but didn't go much further than that
