It sounds like the Parent's are the one's who badly need(ed) therapy well before this film was even a glint in someone's eye.
Being terminally online, along with a corresponding reduction of in-person socializing, reduce a person's ability to empathize with others and form meaningful relationships outside of a very small circle of friends and relatives... so it's happening everywhere. Hopefully we outlast everyone else.
Nothing I'm looking for this time, but there are a few new pieces of concept art in the margins, good images of the GFred's head, and this frame here is also nice.

Confirmed there is a cutout on the side for the saber hilt/other attachments. There's even a round port it articulates in, but it isn't visible on the front 3/4 view.

There's a cutout where the saber hilt/shoulder cannons mount to the core-system. This is not present in the production design images I have or on the HG model kit...

Fore sure. I really like the design and I don't mind the color scheme myself, but I can see what you're saying too.
I think colors and being generally appealing were low on the redesign considerations checklist for the GQRX.
After this exercise, I really want to have a custom G3 GQ RX-78 kit...
A couple nights ago, I got curious if anyone had mocked up what the GQuuuuuuX RX-78 would look like with the "Real Colors" pallet and promptly started to wonder about the G3 colors as well. A cursory search didn't find anything, so I did it myself:
