Gladiator is a structurally sound screenplay/film and yet it both annoys and bores me (as do most plots that revolve around dead wife vengeance)

A member of ACT UP said that during the peak years of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s: βWe went to funerals and buried our friends in the morning, protested in the afternoon and then fucked danced and partied all night.β
Because the world is on fire, itβs on us to live out loud. We need to do it all.

Meme of the old man falling down with caption "call the ambulance", then in next frame, he stands and holds a gun with the caption "but not for me"
This guy's energy
They want you to be so obsessed with food/eating that you never have time or energy to organize. The metaphor of taking up zero space continues to hold.
I love this!! Years of being in startups also taught me that raising VC funding has lots of parallels to Hollywood fundraising
*album good lord
1998, but Dizzy Up the Girl alumb by the goo goo dolls was a top tier album that was somehow both popular and uncool then, but has rightly become cool now!!
Industry just put a new spin on it by having a character ask, "are you sure it's not broken?"

On top of the fact that they're sexist assholes, the dummies of the US Men's Hockey Team are gonna be SO BORED at the SOTU and frankly they deserve it.

"Like can of Pepsi" is a personal favorite
audio is horrifying and SHE KNOWS IT "you make it sound terrible." YES because it is. These are people who are racist but don't want to be thought of as racist, who "don't want to talk about politics," who are so insecure about their lives they have to feel power over someone else at the worst cost
You know deep down this must be a very exciting day for him because heβs getting a little taste of that 16th century βthrow your own brother in the dungeon for the common goodβ rush a constitutional monarch can only dream of lol.
industry and succession combined got nothing on this irl corrupt nonsense
Characters only wear a necktie when asking for something, brilliant costume design! www.nytimes.com/2026/02/18/s...
This is incredibly real, and often just as egregious in non-gaming disciplines. I spent most of my 20s working on a platform that is now mostly dead & forgotten, enriching other people (some of whom went on to... fundraise from Epstein?), and all that equity I was "given" got erased. For what?
As a cis woman myself, it's so obvious to me that any attempt to control gender identity is an attempt to control MY gender identity and expression too. Trans rights are inseparable from my own, so why wouldn't we be fighting for those every single day in every campaign? So shortsighted to ignore.
I'm so glad! The whole deck is so beautiful and surprisingly intuitive. I'm connecting with it more than I anticipated!
The tarot card page of Pentacles, featuring gondar Ethiopia, a young man holding a walking stick next to a lamb, overlooking a sunset or sunrise sky and the medieval gondar castle architecture of ethiopia
The Page of Pentacles reminds you to take a moment to ground yourself and admire what you have built for yourself through quiet dedication.
Gondar in Ethiopia has long been a center for artisans and education, and can serve as an inspiration to follow your own vision, building it brick by brick.
The Star tarot card featuring the blue lagoon in Iceland with a bridge and a starry night with green northern lights.
I've pulled this card a couple times for myself (as I keep hearing about people wrecking their hair in the Blue Lagoon lol)
A good reminder that the universe is vast and magical, and to keep looking up.
An image of travel tarot guidebook cover featuring mountains and hot air balloons
Having fun with this beautiful new travel tarot deck from Lonely Planet. If you want a card pull, comment or emoji below!
And the way moon magic and moon time still weaves throughout us all π
I love a day of global celebration across time and culture!
I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is
And if youβre wondering βWhy is there a blob in the back?β Well, thatβs where the first woman president was supposed to go. More than a century later, it remains unsculpted.
Why I'm obsessed with dark matter which is literally just passing through all of us everyday, minding its business
