Game Mode button set to creative in Minecraft
I once had the same misconception myself. Heard the game being talked about rigorously and thought it was just some secret game mode or easter egg within the regular game.
I've seen it pointed out multiple times that the drop system hasn't added any full blocksets since TGA, though I think it's nice that Mojang is fleshing out building in other ways too. Mob variants, ambient sounds, particle emitters, a rideable flying mob, "vertical slabs", and golden dandelions!
Games are an art form and art needs an end.
A painting has no more canvas to paint on. A book has no more pages to read. A song has no more to listen to. A film has the same.
If these things aren't the case people wouldn't like it, so why do people expect the opposite from a game? Let them end.

Jappa's response to the creeper looking different in other games without the original texture ever being touched is actually great. Yes it would be super controversial to even smooth out the texture noise, though controversy isn't the only reason creepers look different in other Minecraft spinoffs.
I use them if I encounter them, but can't seem to find enough scutes to maintain the armor considering how much wolves like rolling down cliffs. Perhaps an armadillo pen will fix that?

CliffTree 3.1.5 for 1.21.11 is out, mostly fixing bugs! But it also has some slight improvements when installed with Apollo's Lithostitched mod, including:

Mojang’s has been on a tirade against Minecraft logic (like not letting a wild cat transform into an entirely different species by poisoning it with pufferfish). Therefore, I anticipate that they’ll make the purpur recipe only give 1 block instead of 4, and do the same for planks as evil QoL. 😈

Careful, some people will combust upon learning that the residents knew of sniffers because you could excavate sherds depicting them. Only the Minecraft community could suddenly discover that their game is not realistic 16 years after the fact.
Considering how infrequent communication was about this feature despite being suggested about as long and as much as the cave update, I don't really expect to see them.
Was parity a factor when they first rejected the idea, because Minecraft was functionally a single game from a development standpoint before Bedrock?
Technical issues feel pretty ambiguous as a rejection anyway, considering the massive technical changes needed for 1.13 and 1.18.
At first I thought Mojang didn't want vertical slabs because restrictions inspire more creativity, though I've recently learned the very elaborate real reason they won't add vertical slabs: Because no.
The baby zombies, husks, and drowned have been changed yet again!
Their heads have been shrunken, so now they don't have the exact same heads as the adults.
What do you think of this change?

I really like it. Having an actual adult sized adult head on the baby seemed like a downgrade despite the pixel consistency, so I'm glad they improved it.

Goat Horns: There are 4 horn variants for normal goats ("Ponder", "Sing", "Seek", and "Feel"), and 4 horn variants that only screaming goats drop ("Admire", "Call", "Yearn", and "Dream"). Goats do not regrow their horns; therefore, up to two horns can be dropped per goat, or one horn if the goat spawned with only one horn. Ramming: A screaming goat tries to ram a valid target every 5 to 15 seconds.

Screaming goats definitely have different behavior, in that they ram way more often and drop exclusive horns.
I guess it’s because they have different behavior programmed into them. But then again, so do screaming goats and arctic foxes.
Anyone else wonder why these are their own mobs rather than variants of the regular llamas?
Why couldn't they just give the llamas an extra tag to give them that outerwear that the trader llamas have?

The very last batch of baby mobs has arrived, finishing up this drop.
I'm honestly surprised that they actually ended up redoing every single one of them.
I thought they might've done a couple and moved onto some gameplay bits, but I guess this really was an art update.

Now we could put more focus on the elder guardian and cave spider remodels. They're certainly happening eventually if every baby mob was addressed in this drop.
Despite being on the smaller side, I'm actually good with this drop because it added more QoL features and FULLY served its purpose. As for using smooth deepslate to craft building blocks without having to manually break them, finally!

People would lose their minds
I've heard some people want different colored flames for candles. From blue, to green, and even purple!
What are your thoughts on this? How would you implement it?
Would it be by crafting a unique candle (e.g. a "soul candle") or by lighting existing candles with a new igniter?
