Could never be just that there are too many cars in one place at the same time..... traffic outside the car park was at a standstill with taxis. Drivers trying to exit had nowhere to go.

The annual Manchester Christmas tradition of getting stuck in the Arndale car park for hours has returned.
Two people on a bicycle riding Oma city street
Manchester does it right.
Yes I think so.
Not an official route, but this is a quite way to get to the mersey.
Path From Bruntwood Park getting upgraded
The Path from Bruntwood Park up to Stanley Green is currently being upgraded.
Wonderful to see the Heaton Mersey Common scheme now completed. You would not believe the hostility this created among some of my neighbours back when the scheme was consulted on.
Inaccessible barriers in Heaton Mersey Common now removed

For context, the paths used to be inaccessible and only possible to walk with wellies in the winter.

I saw this bike outside my local supermarket. It's a thing of beauty. A converted old Orange mountain bike frame with a 1 x. The young lad had put a lot of effort and attention into building this. He let me pick it up, felt really light, about 8kg. TPU tubes on. A really nice everything bike.
We are back to normal for the gym bike parking.
Genius, not seen the cork from a wine bottle being used as bar caps before.
Car blocking cycle lane
Notice to remove car from cycle lane.
Beautiful.
Today we celebrated the opening of Deansgate Cycleway by riding the entire length to Chorlton and grabbing a beer. The dream!
I must have seen about 20 people cycling along the newly completed section of the Deansgate cycleway in Manchester at 9am.
I find the sort of people who flytip are usually the worst people in existence in terms of how they view the world and everything in it.
We need to start making serious examples of people who do this.
A point closure along a Quiet Lane in Tameside. Two wooden planters restrict the road width to stop motor vehicles from passing them. The planters have ROAD CLOSED signs on them. Two adjacent signposts have the 'no motor vehicles' sign (aka the flying motorbike) and ROAD CLOSED underneath.
This point closure on a Quiet Lane in Tameside shows what's possible if you are serious about making rural roads safer, more enjoyable and *quieter* for non-motorised users and residents.
Hint hint, Stockport Council.

Out of all the roads, one might hazard guess where you'd find mass flytipping? I would have never expected to find it on Crime Lane.
Before. A metal a-frame barrier and horse stile at the access to a traffic-free multi user trail. A bumpy track leads over a verge around the barrier.
After. Two widely spaced bollards at the entrance to the multi user trail. The a-frame barrier is gone.
This just inβ¦!
Before, After.

Are we just going to ignore that this is one of the best bike rack designs I have ever seen? Love some covered staples.
I admire people's lock setups when i see them. This is the Β£250 Hiploc D1000, the anti angle grinder lock. It's a totally appropriate lock for a long tail cargo bike. I worry when I see inappropriate locks for e-bikes etc
Warbuton Bridge before and after, dirt track has been transformed into a proper tarmac pavement
Warburton Bridge now has a proper pavement, rather than a dirt track. Before and after.
Cyclists up old road near Buxton
Old road out of buxton
Old road before road improvements
Old Road out of Whalley Bridge to Buxton before and after. Now, it is vastly improved and ridable on a road bike. Decent climb, too.

These barriers do not stop motorbikes.
If there weren't protected cycle lanes in Chorlton, you wouldn't see this.
