- about video games, a large but still niche hobby only a few people get that into
- was mostly on Twitter & Reddit, so if you weren't online much (which way more people weren't 10 years ago) you'd easily not know at all

It also tells me a LOT of people either don't know or are SUPER EAGER to just ignore a real life misogynist who has harmed real women in favor of a fictional character from 25 years ago.

The fact that this video has the most likes and comments of all of them by a large exponential degree AND Jewel Staite has commented on it (as she has the others) just makes me even MORE disappointed.

With Adam Baldwin's inclusion in whatever the Firefly cast is up to, I am officially no longer interested.

Maybe my being a man has something to do with it?
I've wondered about this for over a decade, now.

I still don't have good answers.

But my personal feeling is that if you are friends with someone, you'd think about them and reach out to them?

Instead of just waiting for the algorithm to maybe show you one of their posts?

Maybe I'm still stuck in a pre-social media world mentally and nobody does this anymore?

But when I make an effort to comment or like posts from people and they never interact with mine, my brain will often tell me I need to stop that and just unfollow them.

I've had people tell me "it's just the algorithm" and "I never see your posts".

Social media can be so asymmetrical sometimes.

I have negative personal history with "friends" who never put as much energy into friendship as I did.

I have to remind myself that some people are not on here to be "friends" with anyone, and being mutuals doesn't mean you're "friends" with someone.
